Curious as to what happened though, care to share?

Why is Regfly bad?

This thread would be 6 pages worth of complaints if we want to hash this out again. Last I checked, Dodora is THE most hated registrar that exists out there. Like I said, ask around and check out the other forums too by searching Dodora.

Good luck trying to get an answer from "Live support" and after your 200th attempt to get something fixed thru them, don't believe they have done anything really to fix the error or problem. If they tell you they have unlocked names for transfer don't believe them. If they say they have sent out auth codes don't believe them. Their appraisal system doesn't work other than charging your credit card. Good luck trying to get a charge reversed. You say you don't like enom, but Regfly (in addition to being part of Unified Names / Dodora) is a enom reseller and relies on enoms supply of auth codes. Problem is that on occasion "for security reasons" enom will change the auth codes and Regfly will continue to supply the wrong ones and cancel support tickets over and over again. They have lost names that I've put in for transfer and taken 2 months or more to fix their errors (after about 5 bazillion support tickets) on the names that weren't lost. That's the good news. Sometimes these problems are never dealt with. Tim Shor seems to respond to you, he must like you cause he ignores many others. Support says they don't know of the forums, and "frankly don't give a damn" about the complaints while at the same time framing the forums on their own site. They send out renewal notices, expiration notices and cancellation notices over and over again for names that were long transfered out from them.

Like I said, this thread could go on and on and on.

You say you transfered out of Aplus.net. Good going cause they are also up there in the top 5 worst registrars. They took $thousands for pre-reg fees in the landrush and never submitted 1. I caught them at it and after proving it got a credit card reimbursement for over $2k. How many other of your brethren domainers got ripped off without refunds? But then you go to Regfly? Sheesh.

I have actively used over 50 of the registrars and have reseller accounts at a dozen or so. Dodora/Regfly/Unified names is the worst. I've had hundreds of names with Regfly in the past and am in a real big hurry to transfer out the couple I have left over there before they lose those.

Nope, I'm not promoting any other registrar, just trying to warn the other members about these guys.

Nope, my mistake, I misquoted you on disliking enom. But the auth code portion was my statement and correct.

Looks good, I have a site submitter I market at http://www.programsandsoftware.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=31
Though mine dosent have the whois and email features like yours.
I'm working on a similar software, it'd be great if you shared any ideas that you would do on a new version if you were to re-do yours.

Just to clarify, the link in my sig is not my program. I bought a copy, and am so impressed that I set up an affiliate link. Nonetheless, it is defintely worth checking out. As a domain prospector / site developer / service provider it meets a number of my needs.

NameCheap does this too, but their "Sync domains" utility (misnamed, IMHO. I thought it was an expiration date sync function) seems to work well. Does RF have a similar utility?

Ahh thanks for the clarification. I thought it was your software.

No, no sync domains command. And, domains do fall out of sync when transfering sometimes. The date of initial registration gets mysteriously set at 00-00-0000. Though this is resolved within a few hours with the help of a trouble ticket. Have even had a chat operator fix it for me once. And, yes, not after waiting about 7 minutes for them to answer the call.

Aplus.net is sending me a lot of emails to renew names that are long gone.

Guess as the competition grew with registrars, a lot more names have been transferred around then one would have guessed a few years ago. Sure a synch feature is coming to most registrars soon. At least it would be in the best interest of the general public to see this feature used more often at the reg companies. I'm sick of getting notices to renew when in fact there's over a year left because the name is elsewhere. Thats why I mentioned WMDpro as a link in the chain. Thats my trusted source for when a name needs renewing. The emails, they just get archived for a bit, possibly burned to cd in a backup, then deleted from the box.

What other sites allow you to sync your names in that circumstance? Anyone else's have that?

Nice look, but nothing like the real thing i.e. eNom. Sure they get their ocassional hiccups, but the scripting is world class given the level of sophistication and functionality their interphase provides - tons better than Netsol or any other registrars combined.

Regfly's skin may look good I admit, but when you are serious about domains, you don't need all that fluff. Nor support. It's DIY all the way. Unless a serious crash occurs. What's there really to support with domains, anyway, except ego stroking?? :-D

The problem with RF is, although their panel and registrations process and all is nice - when it comes to support they're the absolutest nightmare.

I've had so many horror experiences with their support, unbelievable, ridiculous stuff i could write a book about it.Their support staff is the most clueless arrogant people on earth.

There were times when i thought i'd instantly kill myself should the "support" chat guy say the name "Tim Shor" one more time.

All you need to do is send them an email informing them about the transfer. Moniker is a high security registrar...I have been moving all my domains to them and I have transferred domains out when I have sold them...without any problems. Have you ever lost a domain because a registrar transferred a domain without your knowledge? I have and it sucks.

Moniker is the best registrar IMO.

I had so many problems with RegisterFly triple billing my credit card, it was amazing.

Also, Moniker has real live people in support you can speak with, not to mention I have spoken to Monte (the CEO of Moniker). Try and talk to RegisterFly's CEO...not to mention RegisterFly is just an ENOM reseller.

Sorry Jordon, You couldnt pay me to use Moniker..nothing but trouble IMO .. you'll see. You havent gotten to know them well enough yet.

The very last thing i want is a a used car salesman approach "lecture" hardcore sale every time I try and transfer a name and thats what you get with moniker.. they disguise this pain in the arse sales approach to under "security" ..

I would not only NOT recommend them ..In no way would I move all of my domains their.. just as I wouldnt move all of my domains in any 1 registrar.

You can say whatever you like but this forum has already shown that many people do NOT like Moniker.com because they are a pain in the arse to transfer names out of ND they are expensive as hell ..yeah yeah talk to Monte..

But it's the same with all of them..every single one has had their problems and complaints

You are having good luck with moniker and thats fine .. but I wonet ever use them as many others wont just the same as many wont ever use regfly agin..

Look at how damn near everyone on this board drooled over enom..now look how many hate them..

I've worked with domainsystems/moniker Monte before and I dont appreciate the BS .. If I say I want to transfer 10 names thats what I want to do ..I dont ned a used car salesman giving me a hard time and telling me to try and convince my buyer to use them.. and just being total assess of a simple transfer..

We al have our horror stories for each registers.. ..I'm not ever going to be beholding to any "1" again.. I'll keep my names are 3-4 places so I'll never have a major incident that will wipe me out.. and if I need to move some names it will never be my entire portfolio..

You want to use Moniker..fine.. but I think you're making a huge mistake if you move them all their..just like you'd be making a huge mistake keeping all your names at any one location.

Moniker is not the best register by any stretch of the imagination as clearly pointed out many times on this board ;Registerfly is not the nest register by any stretch of the imagination..

LikeI said.. manyf you only recently became aware of moniker(past 6 months) .. I have used them for nearly 3 years under their domainsystems.com

Right, DomainSystems was a bit of a mess...I bought TopNames.com from them a couple years ago. However, the new Moniker format is great and I would much rather have a registrar who takes too many steps to transfer a name, then one who requires too few steps. Loose a domain just once and I think you will agree with me.

Thats OK Topnames.. I guess I am just trying to point out that the same feeling of disgust that some people feel with Regfly ..is the same disgust I (and many others) feel about moniker/domainsystems.

And that this whole "use Moniker" their great theme thats been going around ; resembles last years Use Enom their the greatest dance..(and know everyoone is pissed at them )

And in the end .I am just saying.. the perverbial ..we are al probably better off by not putting all of our eggs inthe same basket.. because it never fails that agravation is just awaiting round the corner lol

good luck !

Bidawinner,

Haven't you beat this "Moniker is a bad registrar" horse a little too much? Do a search on Moniker throughout this forum and you will begin to see more and more people saying the same thing - Best service, Best Security, Comparable pricing, etc.

You started this "theft prevention/security disguised as trying to hold your names hostage" thing back in November and it turned into 21 steps in preventing domain theft which is what we practice every day!

I will commit to you and everyone else in this forum to the very best in class customer support, service, security, and pricing. Just give us a shot and you will see for your self.

Just email me and I will help you myself.

I have quite a large portfolio,
$16.99 per transfer isnt so appealing to make me want to pack my bags and go.
But, the way this thread has been going, I may want to take some advice soon.
I know Rick is with you, so there must be some logic there.

I'd be happy to come and see you to talk about the portfolio. How's tomorrow (today.. look at the time) sound?
post your address/contact info (ph #) in a pm for me

Thanks,
