If there is confusion on the time, could the auction be extended? I wont bid, i just offer a suggestion.

Actually, it is quite clear. There is only one person confused. The seller confirmed that I won after the auction ended.

Thank you for your suggestion. I wouldn't mind the extension, if DirectoryGator was from another part of the world. However, if you live in North America and don't know the difference between ET, EDT and EST, it is your own problem. I'm glad there is no argument about what AM is.

Auction will probably be rerun due to confusion by 4 bidders.

to the seller:

it is your responsibility to determine who is the winning bidder based on time stamp.

please do so and honor the bids placed here.

Thanks

I do believe you should honor this one but if you re-list, let me know. I am only writing this in thread because your PM box is full. In your next auction, you should include the time the auction closes more clearly, for example I will state EST(eastern standard time) in the US. Maybe that will help your also.

As the timestamp, I'm the winner. I also hope you will honor this auction.

Best regards

Sumo and DirectoryGator, I am working with biggedon on determining who won, and will abide by what he says. I do not wish anybody to be privileged, but the rules of the forum are the rules, and whatever biggedon will say, I will have to go by.

"11 am EST" as mentioned in the original post, is 59 minutes earlier than "11:59 am EST" - the timestamp of sumo's post. So DirectoryGator won it.

Acro,

My post was exactly at 10:59 am EST (GMT -5).

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 11:23 PM.

Actually, no. Your post - as seen by me - was at 11:59 AM forum time.
His post listed 11:00 as the cutoff time.

Sumo, you miss the point. Your post shows 11:59 am
If you're seeing 10:59 am you're in central zone.

Rich's post said "11:00am EST". Obviously, he meant "Eastern". Since we are still in daylight saving time, it'd be more accurate to say "11:00 am EDT". But you cannot adjust that EDT into CDT to claim your post made at 10:59 CDT post was made at 10:59 EST ;) Get it?

Acro, please read my above post again.

How am I supposed to know "what he means" . " EST = GMT -5 " equation doesn't change anytime, anywhere.

I am not saying his post of:

"11:00 am EST"

...is perfectly accurate. It should have been "11:00 am EDT". However, common sense - and common (ab)use of the term - makes me understand that it means:

"When the clock strikes 11:00 am local time in the Eastern time zone of the US"

So in this case, your post was made 59 minutes after that time.

Sumo, i find it funny that you know it's EDT (this month) yet you think someone would say EST (eastern standard time) when it's next month.

By EST he means Eastern.

I hope you learn a lesson today, or else you're going to be showing up an hour late at a lot of auction sites.
