Another way would be to tell a potential buyer that my asking price is eu80k
after the first offer and wont cost a cent....

Or am I missing something??..... cheap appraisals get more visibility on
main page?.

Sedo contends that domains with a listed price attract more offers than domains that simply say "make offer." I'm not sure if that's true or not.

its probably true. Especially if someone searches with the price range search feature.
It also gives the bidder an idea of your asking price, which means the offer you get, will be, in all probablity, more 'legit'.

I still think there appraisal system is lacking, to put it nicely.

For example, I had a domain name, which I wont name here, that was under appraised because it was a .org (thats there answer).
However, the name itself, fits *ideally* with .org, and would be an inslut with com etc.. with the exception of info
It also got a lot of traffic.

I ended up selling it higher than their appraisal...
