I just got an e-mail from Sedo informing me that a selection of domains relating to "Xbox 360" have been removed from the Sedo Marketplace. Has this happened to others? I would have thought they'd clamp down on obvious TM typo domains, but names like mine can be legitimately sold to people with the intention of development in good faith.

"Due to the famous nature of the trademark contained in the domain at issue, Sedo is
forced to remove your domain from the domain marketplace and parking program at this
time. This action in no way affects your registration or control of the domain,
your Sedo user account or the other domains you have listed for sale or parked with
Sedo. However, due to the potential of infringement of a famous mark Sedo must do
the following:

- Suspend the domain name from our domain marketplace"

Anyone else have experience with this happening to their domains?

I've heard this has happened to a few people... I also heard that some are questioning whether a complaint was made....

This is another option being taken by TM holders.

Rather than sending out "infringement" letters to individual domain owners, they just contact the ppc's and tell them to block certain names.

I guess it's cheaper than paying a lawyer to write up those letters.

Similar actions were taken for some "disney" related names as well.

Same here, just got my only xbox domain name removed by Sedo.

I actually can't believe how many people with solid xbox domain names expect $x,xxx - xx,xxx for them and swear up and down Microsoft will never come after them.

Hi All,

To clarify, Sedo has been following up with a large trademark complaint from Microsoft and is doing what is necessary to resolve the issue. While I can't give out specific details pertaining to this complaint, I can assure you all that no personal data was compromised and all accounts were otherwise unaffected. We do apologize for the inconvenience, but as always, we definitely appreciate the patience and cooperation everyone has shown in this regard. Have a fantastic day and take care!

Always,
Keith

When you have the money that Microsoft has, they can afford Attorney's working around the clock protecting there Trademarks, even it stomps on innocent people like Mike Rowe.
