Self Promotion on non-advertising forum

Is it OK to self promote on non-adversiting threads?

For example, if someone ask for webhosting, can we point to our url?

I know it was not allowed before but lately I've seen numerous!!! occassions where members having been self promoting their own websites. Has the rules been changed?

No it is not alright and the policy has not been changed - if they are discovered they will be edited out and a PM sent to the member concerned. Repeated misuse of the threads for self-promotion could lead to membership being revoked.

but I have seen ALOT of self promotions at some forums!
