Billy Baloney!

I think there are at least 3 plays on these.

First you have access to some of the top keywords in the search engines. These show up in Wordtrackers top 50 keyword searches under the term kids. Developed they can stand on their own, nevermind the type in stuff.

Second, I agree that the eventual owner of art.kids.us could have an interest in artkids.us just to pull traffic that might go astray.

Third, if the US registry does a sunrise pre-reg period, a developed site carrying artkids.us may have a shot at filing first.

For $6.95 you get to take a shot. Best new idea presented for a while here imho. Much better than a lot of the .coms and .nets I've been seeing on these threads lately offered for much higher costs.

That said, I'm sticking to the top 50 kids keyword related names.

Good points Doc - and I agree if you are going to play it - take only the highest quality keywords to pair with Kids. Did Tariq leave any? (If so we'll have to get them while he is broke!) :)

Heat asked:

“…what makes us convinced that ALL the parents will even install such a software.”

The FCC requires that V (violence?) chips be placed in all TVs. If activated, parents can prevent children from seeing violent TV content. Has every child been prevented from seeing a violent show? Has every parent activated the chip in the TV? Of course not! But that answer is not as relevant as the effect of the V chip. Advertisers no long pay for child targeted ads on M shows.

As far as the issue of domain value dilution that Heat mentioned. Time will tell if any of this is relevant. That is why they call what you do speculation rather than certainty. I do wish everyone the best of luck with .US and .KIS.US.

Duke I think its time to take a break; its enough for "speculation in the ninth degree" as you noted. I also noted an interesting similarity between our (mine & yours) city name & P.O.Box #; just a difference of one letter & number, respectively.

Thanks for your thoughts bidawinner. I checked my post. I cannot find that I said “There will be no type-ins or typos." My conclusion was:

“time will tell if Tariq’s methodology was BETTER than other regs”

I did not say no value or dumb. I merely indicted that the $6.95+ could be BETTER invested. Better is the key word in my statement.

Sorry it took me so long this time to respond but I accidentally posted it to the DNforumkids.us forum.

Guess I'd better get busy and put something on artkids.us then!

I bought more bingo cards!!

With Duke, Heat, Stoc AND Bid throwing punches – I had no choice but to submit. I decided that the risk reward (present value of the future stream of cash flows risk discounted) was sufficient to grab another pocket full for development.

I have submitted. I have submitted. I have submitted.

It is really great tossing around ideas with you guys. Just stop punching me where it hurts.

What? You got BingoCardsKids.US? :D

OK - well I bought two more in this genre, giving me a total of three and I think that is all I'll be betting on this pony. I looked through all of the top keywords paired with kids and only found a couple left that sound good standing on their own:

MovieKids.us and PartyKids.us

To show you how far some people are carrying this, one guy (not someone I know) registered MoviesKids.us last week even though nothing else is registered with that name, INCLUDING the .com. He REALLY believes in Kids.US having a spillover effect on his name!

Personally, I just can't go for the plural - plural combo or weird sounding domains, otherwise I would have taken craftskids.us as "kids crafts" has very high search numbers and Crafts.Kids.us should be a popular choice when Kids.us rolls out.

At least the three I have sound decent enough to stand on their own as sites (obviously no resale value undeveloped so no need to point that out to me).

If they were to help me get a leg up in a Kids.US pre-sunrise for Art.Kids.us, Movie.Kids.us and Party.Kids.us then the reg fees will have been well spent. If not - no big deal. I would have just spent the $20 going to a movie this weekend (which thanks to you guys and your hypnotic powers of persuasion I will now be unable to do!). :)

Pssst hey Duke sshhh

I have a few more great ones for the kids.us thing. Don't tell anyone, but if you knew about these, you'd have your wife's coin purse out in a hurry. Top stuff. Got em from DNpusher.

Let me know, and I'll send em over. Doc

I took Xtremegames.us....why? Because kids love them.

I "think" you're kidding Doc - but like any true junkie, I can't take a chance that you are not! So I have PM'ed you with the password to my kid's savings account. :)

Nah...Its totally different speculative stance than the "4" thingy from 1999 !

In general, sex is the most wanted keyword for domain name, but I think it's an exception in this case.

I don't think anybody wants to register porn.kids.us, sex.kids.us.

:D

Mmmmm should I press the register button and register chesskids.us.......I think where on to the next land rush.

Logik:

You are concerned about reging 1 lousy domain. Its an easy logical choice – open bottle, pour wine, look at monitor –

As HEAT and DUKE already captured the top search words, I was left with registered the 25,000 less desirable keyword-kids.us domains:

#1 reg bingocalls-kids.us
…
#2,008 reg e-duke2kids.us
…
#5,000 reg chickenparts-kids.us
…
#8,757 reg nuclearphysicskids.us
…
#15,257 reg rocketsciencekids.us
…
finally
#25,000 reg zitskids.us
…
DONE

Still available for all you addicts:

ComputersKids.us

Send me 20 DN bucks if ya reg it. :)

Another one:

FashionKids.us
