I´m sure we will see another mobis hate and love thread very soon...lol

Yeah, I can't wait to see IDNers (RD included) to come here and ruin the party :sigh2:

PS: I will believe the sale when I see it in DNJournal.

Hopefully it a true sale! It would be very good news for all of us .mobi fans! Hoping it'll give my bookmakers.mobi a fighting chance of a good sale!!

Don't get confused by this. Sportsbook.com is a very old and well established gambling site on the internet. I've been betting there since at least 1999 (7 years). Sportsbook is a very common word in the US. That's the part of the casino that you place sports bets at. The direction signs in the casino will pretty much always refer to it as "sportsbook". In the US there probably isn't a better possible name for a sports betting website than sportsbook.com.

If this turns out to be real then this is good news for people who own .mobi names of big .com sites.

FYI- I got a PM from the broker of the sale...he was convinced I thought the sale was real...and I was 99% sure it was..then after his PM to me..I checked out his site. NO WAY. I won't reveal my info but my first impression is this is a hoax to get people to his site which sells similar yet much crappier domain names in the sportsbook mobi arena. One has to wonder really if this is legit. If it came from Moniker or Sedo I might believe it.

There is also a rumor going around that the premium mobi sedo auction may get cancelled...some weird news is floating around this week. I really don't know what to think.

I don't think it beyond anyone to set up hype and in-turn try and profit from it. It's practically a scam. Domains and scams seem to go hand in hand.

Are we really to believe that an unknown guy registers at NP out of nowhere and announces he has a $xxx, xxx sale? Sorry but it takes experience and hard work to make sales like that. Most would have taken $xx,xxx for the domain. Who the heck bought it? If it was sportsbook.com...maybe they forked it up. If I was seller and I connected sportsbook.com to the offer...yeah I would shoot for the moon.

Did it happen? Not sure..but could it have happened...maybe.

EDIT: I just looked at this "brokers" site again...all the domains with keywordsportsbook.mobi are registered to his site. I am smelling such bullshit in this. Even if it gets in DNjournal...we need as much proof of this sale as possible. I just don't see it happening at this point. Sportsbook.mobi now has a site there and it doesn't appear to be related at all to sportsbook.com with no copyrights from any major company and a Godaddy hidden whois. BS.

You mean you've been losing money there since 1999?

Ok, i saw this in another forum related to this sale:

This is good!!!!! Congrats to the seller! It's yet another instance the haters will be trying to explain away with their 'hype' rubbish! I'm glad i'm 'all in' no matter what they now say!
