Isn't it interesting how provincial names are dropping into TBR and now you have to do your own research to see if you can register main extension... sounds like a scam to me.

Spex the only way to get a true city + .ca is if the city was named/changed its name after the restricted keywords were put in or if the city accidentally let it drop or if the city did not register the name before the cutoff date. I believe they had x amount of time to register it and if they didn't it became available. this is my understanding of how it works but don't quote me :p

so someone can't own a geo City .ca?

Type them in - they all be gone/used/on hold!

towns and villages are another matter...

Ok, that makes sense. I think mine was considered a town, but I'm pretty sure it has since been amalgamated with other towns.

And a chamber of commerce owned it before it dropped

So I got a domain through pool this week, how long do I expect to wait until I get an email from the registrar?

So, is proms.ca good for a plural domain? or would someone want the singular instead?

Hi Investor, what would you type it? Probably "prom dresses", "prom rings". People will be searching for their own prom and go to pretty much only one prom.

Keyword discover:

- prom = 12575 with prom dresses = 47600
- proms = 260

Google search results:

- prom = 57,900,000
- proms = 3,670,000

My personal opinion I would say that if prom.ca sold for 5k, proms.ca shouldn't sell for much more than 1.5k. But if I was the owner of prom.ca, I would be willing to pay 8k to own proms.ca to get the combo increasing the value of prom.ca by at least 10 times.

When I get a good domain, my only next goal is the get the combo.

Could be all wrong, I was many times before.

D.

That makes sense belzibut. I was just thinking that maybe Proms could be more easily developed. Almost like Watches instead of Watch.

Maybe if there could be different venues etc. You want to search for available places. You would want to type in Proms. Instead of Prom. I don't know...maybe i'm thinking too much about it. I think the word alone is hard to develop singular or plural.

What's happening with TBR this week? It seems they have already released July 8th names as well but the July 1st week only has around 600 names.

Maybe they're canceling the July 1st TBR because of Canada Day. It is rather confusing.

You 'd think we would have got notices by now from Cira and some registrars.

It would have been a good idea .

this notice just came by email from Pool.com:

Please be advised that due to this Wednesday's Canadian statutory holiday - Canada Day -CIRA has advised that this week's .CA drop has been postponed. Therefore all domain names originally scheduled to drop this Wednesday, July 1 will now drop alongside all scheduled TBR domains for next Wednesday, July 8.

Be sure to keep checking Pool.com's Deleting Domains page as new names will get added to the list of deleing .CA domains up until July 3. The July 8 .CA TBR list will be much larger than usual and is bound to have some gems! Don't miss out!
