i have a few different ways to go with this, i'd like some advice or feedback about whether to have a forum, articles, or just resell.

any idea this valuation?

I was thinking portal, but then see the value of a blog....

Well, the name is a bit flexible, but could be confusing to people. Is it pop culture? Or Pop cult.. There is a difference.

That's the first decision to make. Could be a good portal site. Do a portal to increase value, because as is, domain alone it's probably not worth much more than reg fee.

The "the" in it hurts it too. If you are going to go through the trouble of developing it, I might recommend seeing if you can't come up with a more memorable name.
