Hi,

I see that we have a lot of un-educated domain specialist who like open threads and call it .mobi haters! LOL

Well this thread is for .mobi lovers. Haters stay out, your opinion or feedback is for .mobi haters thread so please I ASK PLEASE keep your negative comments in your own THREAD!

Here we like to focus on what the mobile future holds for us who have purchased and taken the opportunity to register .mobi names.

Anyone can register any name if its available, the main point is! Who takes time to research and pick domains based on industry trend.

So my question too you is; How do you decide what is good and what is bad?

MY ANSWER: Sinse .mobi focuses on mobiles, I decided to focus on websites that are already a success on the internet with their .com's . If I could grab the .mobi of their domain, as a Broker I have better odds in selling the domain. For example, if the domain is DVDEmpire_com , I see not only is this a great domain to own in .mobi for the dvd industry but also an opportunity to make a deal with them!!! If they say no, I still know that DVDEmpire is a great keyword and 100% eligible for sale.

This is one example of one domain that I have catched in .mobi. At the present time I own 20 .mobi domains, 12 of them have .com websites that are listed in top 500 websites in the world.

Ill be behind my :typing: and the .com websites will be :hail: :hail: :hail: asking for a deal and I will :tea: make a deal and profit for a $30 investment and than Ill be back at :first: and :fish2: for more names .

 :focus:

Don't you mean for them to keep their comments in their own "tread"?

LOL!!!

Put me down for a table in the "I love .mobi" section

Yeah, I'm pulling up a chair. I wouldn't say I "love" it, but I think it will be a player given time, and if sensible guidelines are followed. Mind you, I'm a little biased as I have been in the mobile space since 1999.

i'm also a speculator in .mobi - i like the extension, but need to spend some more quality time with it before i can use the L word!

.mobi has some good potential. For all the "haters" and trolls the zone file sure is growing.

I love how us, experienced domain traders become "uneducated" by a bunch of opportunists that cannot face the mere fact that they wasted a lot of money on useless names.

Theo, you've made your point very clearly elsewhere. Surely you're not going to come into this thread and start trampling over it? And no, I'm not looking for another aZooZa/Acroplex classic, I'm just surprised that you would do this when you have so much else to offer in other areas. We know you don't like .mobi, but now you're name calling and bullying here?

There are a lot of enthusiastic Gold members who have made investments in this extension; some of them too much I agree, but for heaven's sake let's all give this thing a chance to ride out and in the meantime, not make over-assertive and unsubstantiated prophecies of doom ...

I think as long as I am being called "uneducated" I should have the right to respond. When my professionalism is at stake or trampled upon, I do and will respond, regardless of the boundaries set forth by the thread starter.

Over and out.

good for them, its probably how the guys behind mobi was planning to cash up quickly and/or backed up their investments in that crap

we all need "gold type members" to be good audience for our services at the end of the day

And you two are earning quite the reputation for service and support on these threads. LOL!!!

I think you've gone a long way in making youselves unmarketable, unapproachable and unavailable to potential "customers".

If you come across like this for an extension you don't "believe" in, how are you going to treat me as a customer if I have a design, idea or domain you don't believe in?

That's not a question... you've already answered it.

Go back to your "tread" and enjoy yourself :)

Yes, quite so, and what a well-reasoned and well-expressed opinion. And what would you hand down as your definition of "gold type members" [sic]?

The myopic, anti-mobi naysayers refuse to accept reality.

Just perform a search in Google with the following: inurl:mobi site:mobi

Look at all the businesses that already have an existing .mobi presence on the Mobile Web.

BMW.mobi
BusinessWeek.mobi
MSN.mobi
CityGuide.mobi
RollsRoyce.mobi
CNN.mobi
Weather.mobi
and the list goes on and on.....

and the consortium of Google, Nokia, Samsung, T-Mobile, Microsoft, Ericson

They established practices outlining a number of ways to achieve good user experiences on mobile Web-enabled devices, and recognized several methods of implementing these practices. The .mobi "Switch On" guidelines are derived from the W3C Best Practices.

Those holding trademarks were given 4 months to register their trademarks.

Most of the .mobi premium names will be issued to those companies who conduct business inherent to those .mobi domain names. For example, CellPhones.mobi will be released to a CellPhone corporation, not a construction company, who is willing to pay the highest amount for CellPhones.mobi.

The T-Mobile Dash (releasing tomorrow), Blackberry, Treo and many more mobile devices will utilize the QWERTY keyboards. In 2010 we will retrospect and reread about those in this forum who complained about "too much typing," "what is a qwerty?" "What the heck is MobileTV?"

.mobi is a special world-wide extension. .us (United States) .co.uk (Britain)
.de (Germany) .mobi (global)

If indeed you are interested in the future, the cellphones of say, 2015, will be full-fledged computers. This means that they will be able to utilize the existing namespace e.g. com, net etc in the same way traditional computers use the Internet today. This makes the segragated and machine-specific .mobi namespace even more unnecessary and obsolete.

And those URL's you mentioned: put out a new TLD, such as .crap and you will see that all the major players will register their company name just to occupy that slot, so that argument of yours holds no water.
