Nice. I wonder though, are those real sales? I saw Jesus.us on godaddy for 100k or so, but your site put it at a value of 8-35k. The related sales it was basing these numbers from, where are they from?

Thanks for the question. You're right to call this out.

TLD.is uses Claude AI to analyze domains, which means the comparable sales it generates are educated estimates based on historical market data, not live verified sales from a database.

For Jesus.us specifically, the $100k GoDaddy listing is an asking price, not a sale. Actual Jesus.us sales data is thin, so Claude extrapolates from similar religious/spiritual domains. That's where the $8-35k range comes from.

Real verified comps (from NameBio, GoDaddy auctions, WHOIS records) would be more accurate. That's on the roadmap for future versions.

For now, TLD.is is best used as a starting point for appraisals — not the final word. Always cross-reference with real sales data for high-value domains.

Appreciate the feedback. This is exactly the kind of issue that helps us improve.

wow, this could make a great home for one of the newer TLD consultants (they all seem to come out of ICANN boardrooms)

looks like a nice appraisal tool. how does it perform against Atom, Dynadot, Estibot, DNrater and other ones?

Maybe it would make sense giving 1 search for free? .. just to be able to see it working

is it operational? the footer/header links don't seem to be working yet.

clear pricing. Nice.

All the success!!

I’m sorry, it was Jesus.me. Not .us. And I’m well aware of the market, I was just wondering how realistic the price was to the actual market. It said my cof.ee and coff.ee were both in the same price bracket as each other. That doesn’t seem realistic. I’d say mine is a sort of typo compared to coff.ee. (That domain forwards to buymeacoffee, a tipping platform)

Thanks Helmuts! Great questions.

You actually get 1 free appraisal with no signup — try it now at https://tld.is. That's the "one search for free" you mentioned. I should make that clearer on the homepage.

On comparison vs Atom/Dynadot/Estibot: TLD.is works on ANY TLD (they're .com-focused). We also show transparent reasoning — you see WHY the appraisal landed where it did, not just a black-box number. And no login required.

Fair warning: Atom has brand recognition and scale. TLD.is is MVP — I'm iterating based on user feedback like yours. The advantage is speed. We can ship improvements in days instead of months.

The nav links you mentioned — yeah, those are placeholders. Keeping it minimal for now, focused on the core appraisal.

Give it a try and let me know what breaks. That's the feedback I need most.

Nice!!! It is always great seeing more tools for domainers coming out!!

@doctor-ray - maybe add some text also to your signature? .. so our members keep seeing a reminder that this is a domain valuation tool? :) just a suggestion, of course!

another suggestion.. if these help, of course.. if don't - just ignore these and continue developing :)

your website isn't indexed by Google:
brave_XyQBdWTzyW.webp

.. creating all the possible social media accounts with links back to your site + footer links to these social media accounts will help a little :) .. also, general Terms of Service, and company/individual behind this in the footer would help (just adds more credibility.

I wouldn't be so keen using Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools (or, whatever is the name today) on it > Google is banned in China and enabling these products will negatively impact loading speeds for Chinese visitors. This is one of the reasons why we don't have these enabled in any of our forums (at least, it should be so). The same applies to using Google fonts - go for the self-hosted fonts only.

Don't give up and keep developing and promoting (you are most welcome to use all our forums for building some backlinks and awareness to tld.is).

All the success!!!

Helmuts, thanks for all of this. Really valuable.

You're right on:

  • Adding signature text ✅
  • Social media accounts (Twitter/LinkedIn) — on the roadmap
  • Terms of Service + About section — shipping this week
  • Self-hosting fonts + removing Google Analytics — will implement immediately

I appreciate you being encouraging instead of dismissive. That's rare and it means a lot.

I'm shipping paid credits this week, then going all-in on the SEO/indexing side. Google index + social media should help with visibility.

Thanks again for the guidance. This feedback is gold.

no worries :) you are most welcome! I understand how complex is your task.. and the competition :) .. we also have domain evaluation tool in mind (still many other priorities we are working on), though still are thinking how to make it scalable without a risk of going bankrupt :D :D :D .. LLM credits aren't free :)

all the success!!!!

Nice!! Thank you for sharing!!
This was when I checked deceivers.com. For some reason the automated sites don’t like it for the negative word but they generally like the one word domain. But they all come to the same or similar valuations.

I own Slabaugh.com, so I just searched it, I also own the .org and had the .net but dropped it when I bought the .com. My mom was a Yoder and I have a cookbook under the name of Yoders country cookbook, so if Yoder.com was for sale, that was a missed opportunity. I would have valued it higher, but hey, I paid 3000 for my last name .com a decade back. A year ago I also registered slabaughs.com.
