Are .tv domain worth anything these days or are they considerations for the future? Any help would be appreciated.

I have freeware.tv and I'm wondering if it's worth anything. It costs me $500 a year for registration.

I don't bother with them. I would prefer to have "ExampleTV.com", then "Example.TV".

Definetly agree. We also went with scandaltv.com rather then scandal.tv .

I especially fail to understand the logic behind charging that much per year to renew the domains. I simply think it is a robbery !! :smartass:

wait you paid $500 to register a .tv? you can get them for like $35-$40/year...

i'm not mocking you or anything, just wondering why you had to pay $500/year?

Minumum $500 is charged by the registar itself on domains what is referred to as premium. $50 for regular names as far as I know.

There are two types of .tv domain, ones that are considered 'premium' in which you pay more than the average cost, then there are regular names that cost $50 a year.

Premium means a generic name like price, sale, etc.

Anyways, freeware.tv costs me $500 a year. Premium domains can only be bought at www.tv

....point is, I think .tv is not taking off as once thought. Mtv and cnn have bouight one but maybe it's just too expensive for people.

Another example; You could buy "ExampleTV.com" for a couple thousand dollars (one time fee), where as if you wanted "Example.TV", it might cost you around $7500 per year. To me, it doesn't make sense.

I dont believe you "boy who cried wolf"
because your not a smart man if you pay that much for that name
