But isn't KT acronym? Can acronyms and even generic dictionary names be trademarked?

Yes, KT is an acronym. Yes, acronyms can certainly be trademarked. Examples are KT, AT&T, TM, and others. Generic dictionary names can also be trademarked, have you heard of a little company called Apple :)

trademarks based on acronyms or dictionary words are generally considered weak trademarks, in that they are harder to defend and harder to register and may offer less legal protection for the company. Of course all bets are off when you are Apple.

I received $200k offer from KT.
i think that if i were a foreigner, they offerd at $500k at least.
They are magnanimity to foreigner.
and other reason is TAX problem.
I'd like to pay smaller tax than local trade.
thanks.

I think there are trademarks that are impossible to defend, e.g. company llc.
