Worthless.

Not worth the reg fee due to it being a .us and probable trademark issues but since it is not really a misspelling of youtube per se you maybe could make an argument it is a coincindence. Of course this would mean putting up a site completely different than youtube... i.e. online video which would defeat the purpose.

Having said that I am particularly leary of crossing the trademark line. You might find a sucker who is more willing to take a chance to offload it on before you get a UDRP letter and get away with it but it is still a .us which are pretty useless IMHO and I dont see anyone willing to invest in a .us when they might get the letter on top of it.

anyhow, I wouldn't give it any value at the moment being it's .us... I expect the extension to be somewhere someday but it's slowwww coming up. As for the tm issue.. I'm not a lawyer, but if videos are classified as a hobby and of course you want to share this hobby and as long as you dont show your trying to reap from others efforts I don't see an issue. having a tm doesnt lock-down an entire niche, even with a 'sounds like' word/term.

Yeah, if anyone has been in the domain game long enough we all make these errors in judgement. I dont want to think about how many domains I've thought better of and let expire.

As far as jacks TM comments- yes, as i said i personally am very cautious but maybe you can find someone daring. i agree with him having a TM doesnt lock up everything but google just bought them right? So they could afford to lock you up in litigation forever but you might get away with it however even if so we are back to the .us thing still. Good luck-

Viewtube ryhmes with Youtube, its not a typo, and that genre of site has been around much longer than youtube has been a thought. I wouldn't hesitate using it as a video sharing type of site given I wanted to enter that route. Lik I said above 'I'm not a lawyer' But I don't see how a ryhme can fall into a legal battle unless you show intention of ill will. Yes, Google tends to win alot of battles and drag on others. They've lost many, and people are seeing that they are the biggest copyright infringers on the planet. Crawling personal information on the net is the biggest issue. And they have been sued for that specifically and lost.

That's prpbably the best plan right there. It's authentic and your doing what would be naturally done. And who knows, your friends might tell other friends.
