I'm interested in selling the Webcounter.com domain and website. This site was established in the late 90's and since placed hundreds of thousands of webcounters on websites.
Before the current version the site offered a range of statistics and boasted more than 250,000 members. We had a unique point system in place where each banner impression was good for a certain amount of points say .001 points. When the member reached 100,000 points they could cash those points in for money. It was effective and profitable until the auto surf people found out that they could put their browsers on auto surf and get their 100,000 points in less than a day. So with no way to combat the auto surf people we decided to shut down the website. During this period we owned a web hosting company which we later sold. We had text links and showed banners to our web hosting company on the webcounter website. Though we didn't track referrals we estimate that a large percentage of the 700 web hosting clients we had came from either the webcounter site itself or a banner or text link on a member's website.
After the 4 or so years of servicing web site statistics we build a simple park page with some arbitrage links.
Currently, the site offers a basic webcounter and is receiving a little more than 50 new counter users per day. The counter features a graphic that links back to the webcounter website and the ability to add any static text link with anchor text below the counter. The owners section of the site has three features, amount of counter users per day, ability to add, edit and delete static text links and amount of animated counters. This equates to approximately 50 links per day to the site or web page of your choice.
The site also offers a unique counter for myspace and other social network profile pages. The unique counter shows a goofy animation each time the page is hit. We just launched this a couple weeks ago and though it hasn't taken off it does have a viral potential. Here is an example of the current animated counter in action http://www.webcounter.com/45d9db42a02f9/animated_description.php
Traffic and other info.
The website is a PR 7. Currently, I only promote a couple of my web sites which we just launched.

So far this month it shows 121,000 unque visitors. This is wrong, not sure what exactly this figure is but I am assuming it is counting each unique impression to our counter. There is a stat with awstats that shows how many times a particular page is accessed. The metric is called Pages-URL. For the index page it shows 6235 so far this monthw with 3985 as the entry point. So if you assume 3985 as a more accurate figure for unique visitors then the site averages 332 visitors per day or 9962 visitors per month.
Pricing
There is no direct revenue associated with the website. It makes very little from the text links under the sponsor section as the majority of the people just want the free counter. My price point is based on what I feel fringe benefits cost associated with almost unlimited inbound links, a high PR and a domain that requires $0 in advertising to receive almost 10,000 visitors per month.
We are seeking mid to high 5 figures and no less. Anything less than $50,000 should not be submitted.
Please note, this for sale listing is on several web sites. I reserve the right to end it at any time if our price is met.
