Not even regfee. No one is going to type this into their cellphones. .MOBI could be a huge market, though the only domains that will receive traffic are the ones that actually pertain to "mobile" goods or services..IMO of course.

Well majestique, Im not quite sure of what your budget is in this business; but atleast you know now. Atleast it wasnt 20k. Take a look at what people are discussing on this forum, read discussions pertaining to topics like this with an open mind, but most of all; use your best judgement. The best thing you can leave this thread thinking, is that you know now. It will only make you stronger, and more successful.

afraid this one is worth $0 in my opinion. There are still some good oneworders left, although almost everything is getting snapped up. Think about what will get used. Listen to advice, but think outside the box too. Look at what does well on overture. People won't change habits just because thay're surfing on a phone. Sure they are more likely to use sites for ringtones, phones etc but also breakdown services (i.e when you're next to a motorway & can't hear to speak, use the online facility) etcetera. Certain companies will see their particular companies flourish with this development. it will, in my opinion fall into place when it is really cheap or free to surf online on your phone.
it's still a speculative market & i would say don't buy too many.
words are good though! LOL just not these
the obsession with numbers is just that i feel & is just with domainers, i don't feel the market will want, just because it is a phone! some numbers , memorable etc will be good. but there are people making mistakes with the whole number thing like you did with wedding favors. hope you have some other good ones? out of the $6k?

I have only one .MOBI.......GHETTO.MOBI....this will be a .mobi portal for downloading gangsta rap/hiphop cell phone tunes FROM THE CELLPHONE.....

Nice, short, one word reg that will be instantly remembered by anyone looking to download gangsta rap.....its also a youth market - the most likely market to surf the net on their cellphones.

the .MOBI market has the least oppurtunity for good key words given the huge problem that cellphones are primarily items that are for on the move - anyone who thinks that someone will surf the net on their phone rather than their laptop is living in lala land....

Thus, a very limited keyword real estate market. Having said that - those lucky/savvy enough to have secured a domain that makes sense....the sky is the limit...

Imagine this. A teenager sitting on there cellphone at work or school. Do you honestly think they are going to be looking up shirts, belts, uniforms, or brokerages? I wouldnt reg Fundraise.com if it were open, let alone to .mobi.

Listen, quit spending your money on these and put that 5K to a valuable .com or find a .mobi that pertains to something cellular.

If you're going to register .mobis, at least spend money on names that are mobile-related! That's the first thing to bear in mind if you want a nest egg to mature at some stage. Unrelated generics are pretty useless IMHO.

(sextoys.mobi) Short, highly searched keywords, 377k overture. I would say this has good potential for mobile shopping. And the whole push for mobile has to do with search and commerce, and easy mobile payment methods.

As an aside, screens on some mobiles aren't that bad, and the resolution is getting better, so why won't people be surfing on their cells/pdas in the future if they aren't near a laptop or pc? Technology is advancing so quickly and connection rates are bound to keep dropping, so why is surfing on a small screen so hard for some people to envision? Technology in only 2 or 3 years from now will be way more advanced. Look at how much time kids spend on gameboys with those small screens, I remember seeing two teenagers walking through the airport playing on some sort of gameboys at the same time, fingers and thumbs clicking furiously. Even in the 1980's they had all sorts of handheld games with small screens and poorer graphics by today's standards, but kids would play them all the time.

The kind of comments some people are making about mobile usage remind me of what some people were saying about the internet in the 1990's. Could anyone back then have imagined the internet becoming as big as it is now?
