What are your thoughts on .tv? Will the .tv extension take off?
I hope so. Despite some fairly negative comments I've seen about the .tv extension, it seems inevitable to me that internet television will explode in a totally massive way over the next ten years, making .tv the obvious choice.
Speaking as a web developer of some 8 years, I have seen internet trends come and go, but I am certain that by 2010, the .tv extension will obliterate .com in the public psyche for anything tv related.
All the best .com names were bought 10 years ago, and most have since been sold between rich people in private, sometimes public, sales. Very rarely do we ever see an amazing domain name on an expired list, and if there is one, 99% of the time it's snapped up by Ultsearch et al.
I for one, believe the hype. In 10 years, the face of the internet will change and .tv will be massive.
I bought sportscaster.tv recently.
I envisage that this will one day be a big website (maybe the biggest on the internet) for real-time sportscasts.
Any thoughts on .tv would be cool. I've seen lots of things said by the by, but rarely seen the subject tackled head-on.
