I've just found windowsboy.com and reg'd it. I was a bit surprised as I would have thought that it would fetch £20/30 on Ebay. Am I out of touch here?

So, as everything is getting valued at $0, is the domain name resale market dead?

don't buy a name that you think you can get £20-30 for unless you have a buyer lined up.

I've just gone through a period of buying stock. I think that having a list full of names that are all over $1,000 puts off buyers. Having a selection of names at "realistic" prices gives you more credibility for the more expensive ones. It's just an approach I thought I'd try whilst building up the popularity of a sales site.

I pay under $7 and I don't want to invest more than $500/600 in buying stock. Buying 2 domains for that doesn't buy you a business and doesn't get you any link popularity. Plus I'd probably pay $200 for a $20 name :D

So do you think the 2 domains I put up for auction

refcodes.com and swopnames.com are crap as well. I thought you creative guys could do something with them.

Domainpairs - I think you are very good at adult names and not so good (yet) with other names. Don't try to fill out your portfolio with dross. Concentrate on the good stuff!

I would vote no on those as well. The last thing you want is for someone to have to be creative in explaining a domain name. The name should clearly tell you what the site is all about. When they require an explanation you are in trouble.

They seemed pretty explicit to me, maybe I'm obsessed with computers.

I've got some obscure ones like hetaerae.com, but I wouldn't dream of asking about that here.

I believe in ancient Greece - this was a group of women that were specifically raised to be
high class companions for men. :D

Absolutely right - basically they were the court prostitutes and mistresses. That's why I bought it.

Undeveloped adult names are difficult to sell though. I've just bought

freesexcalls.net and motelsex.net and I've got to work out how to sell those.

windowsboy.com sucks! Lets get MicrosoftMan.com and IntelBoy.com while were at it. I also disagree with you, 2 domain names each with a value of $300 is MUCH better than 30 domains worth $20 each...
