Ask 1k(negotiable) take $500>

On the other hand you could ask 5k and get it. The problem is you know nothing about the client. So you take a chance asking high $$$ that you might scare them off.

The name is prety much useless otherwise.

Here's the customer's current site

http://www.warm98.com/

Somewhere around 1k sounds like a fair price for both sides. I wouldn't go much lower.

thanks for the info... i was thinking around that price too. don't want to ask too much and push them away since no one else will make an offer... plus i don't want to cheat myself neither.

How much did it cost you?!?
Unless it cost you $500, and you settle for less than $500 ... how could you be cheating yourself? IMHO you lucked out here ... ask for $500, but accept anything less, above the amount of your Reg. fee! :)
Good Luck.

I say ask $2000 and then move down from there, a radio station would be able to afford it

I say don't ask anything. Come up with all of the possible alternative uses for the domain. If it turns out to be a lot, and/or quality, then reply to the potential buyer that you are currently in the process of developing for the domain, but may be open to offers. Believe me they want this domain, it is their call sign, and the only .com there is of it. Allow them to set the ballpark, then decide where to go from there.

I agree with Domainut. IMO you should go slow but be respectful, and try to get them to set the ballpark.

I have been involved in a messy fight over a domain name and the company who had an obvious use won, because the individual who originally registered the domain had no apparent use for the name, other than to put a gun to the head of the company that could really use it.

As Domainut stated, "come up with alternative uses"... and perhaps take a weak stab at developing it?

I go to a lot of work to sell specific domains like this and would not hesitate to spend time on getting a few extra bucks if it were mine.

???? Really, anything reasonable could be used, because it is a 4 letter, and could be abreviations for anything.

Wanted: Responsible Room Mate
WildLife Reserve Resource Management
Wholesale & Retail Rates Monitor

Anything, as long as an attempt can be shown if they did decide to play hardball.

Chances are they won't if it is done the way i suggested, but there are many possibilities for any 2-4 letter domain name.

OVT shows 1182 searches for warm98.com. At least you know they have already established their web presence..

it would be stupid to develop this kind of name, you got lucky, take the $1000 or whatever you get, it would be stupid to give up this golden chance

Gather some info on the station. who is the parent, Clear Channel? Will they fight for the name, or just pay for it?

Cincinnati is a big market, if they want to be players, they must be able to buy what they want.

I'm surprised they would want to move from WARM98.COM to wwrm.com. Most stations go by a more friendly name than just the call letters.

Get them to make the first offer. If it's $50, strike 1. $500, strike 2. Anything above $1,000, add in your negotiations, home run.

Ask for whatever you want, but make sure they understand that you're open to negotiation. Before providing an asking price, I would do some research on the radio station, and other uses for the domain.

that's what I said and thought. They are a small station.
No need to say, you take the money and call it a great deal for an otherwize lousy name. You are lucky my friend
