 point taken.. and you are correct, I've been a bit on the edgy side lately..

And you also dead on about why I was skeptical from the beginning..and your analysis on Google is also correct.
But hey, if all someone is worried about is getting listed as fast as possible..well then Skinz the man you want to talk too.

My last post on this..

I think why bid went off on you is because your "sales copy" was very "gimmicky". It's very hard to achieve what you are claiming without eventually getting banned from Google. Also as we know Google stays on top of the various ways people try to get their sites in the top spots. It's in their vital interest to keep things "clean".

Having said all that Bid, you definitely need to take a vacation my friend. You seem very "edgy" lately. Those damn cold winters in Minnesota will do it to you. I should know. I spent 18 years of my life wondering when I would get out of the North Pole.:D

NOTICE: We will challenge all offers to keep our forum clean!!! Let's just do it with a little more decorum though, eh?

To be fair, Google does NOT update once a month. Your site COULD be listed in just days. I did it too all the time. Actually, I just lifted one of my clients from at least outside top 60 (having actually went further than that) and into top 20 with the key string he wanted in less than a week.

I guess we should not trash an offer in the advertising forum unless it's a scam. Frankly, I don't see this offer of
SkinzDotOrg anything near that; he's simply offering a fast route that many folks do not know and sell it for $55-65. Fair enough.

Yes, it's true that EVERY site will be listed by Google, it's just a matter of time. If you are interested in learning more about how I listed 6 NEW sites in less than a month WITHOUT doing extra work at all, check out my other thread that shows them off shamelessly at http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20699 :D

Well, thanks guys for the support. At least the thread got lots of attention. Nameslave is exactly right. I have over 20 sites listed in one month with most being decent top 20 listings. I was not offering any optimisation services, however, I do research keywords for your category, and make the appropriate changes in the sites title. Of course I could do this for free. Overture could have a free search engine too, but what sense does that make? Google offers it for free. It is a matter of choice and discretion to the end user...it always has been.
If anybody is interested, you can pm me. I'm sorry but I won't respond to any questions on the site for obvious reasons.

I had to respond to this one yet! I understand google quite well, and their practices. On my end, all I am basically doing is offering advertising on my site. Every site does that. So theres a little extra incentive that goes along with it? I don't see anything wrong with that. The main difference is that a lot of sites charge hundreds or thousands per month for an ad campaign. Most people only ever dream of getting on sites this big.

The downside, if there is one, like you may be suggesting..getting banned from google. I think it's a safe bet to take. Less than 5% of my traffic even comes from search engines! So I would lose a few hundred. It would be ok. I average between two or three sites wanting to link to me everyday.

BTW gregr, I'll take you up on your bet. Let's go for a little more than a measly $55 tho...lol :)

Here is one I did on Friday:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=unclaimed+cash

The clients site is unpaidcash.com. He was listed in less than 3 days.

I bet it has already submited to google at least a mth ago. It has a pagerank of 5 , I doubt a site can have a pagerank if it isn't in the last update. A new site can get into google within 3 days but it will stay in it only for a few days after which it will be gone. Only after the monthly update , the site can be permanently in the index. If you can let a new site get a pagerank and be in the index permanently in just 3 days , I bow down to you.

For the record - I have talked to Jermy (skinz) and he's a very nice guy. I have recently bought a couple sites that were already getting small traffic - and had a few links out there - but were not listed in Google. I am going to have him 'do his thang' with one of them - and I will let you know the results. These sites are just sitting there while I am busy with several other projects - so if this gives one of them a jump start - then that's great. If it doesn't the guy refunds my money. So I'm feeling pretty good about it.

I understand we are all skeptical - and I am usually the first one to jump on people coming in here talking B.S. - but there is something about Jermy that gives me a good feeling. Call it gut instinct. Call it the 7 beers I've had tonight.

LOL

Seriously though - let's give the guy a chance ok!

Well Skinz it looks like you get to live another day! If 'pop says your o.k that means quite a bit.

Maybe something to keep in mind [everyone]. If you want to sell a product or service by all means let's hear about--unless it directly conflicts with this site which would be showing very poor taste.

I think it is the "spirit" of DNF to show us what you got. The thing that will get you into trouble though is the "cheap" sales talk off.

So...we await your magical transformation of Namepopper's site onto Google. IF you do it, you will definitely get some business. If you don't Bidwinner will eat you for lunch!! Lol

Izopod is such a class act - that he always reminds me why I work so hard at this place. It's for people like him. The staff is not what makes DNF great - it's the members. He is a perfect example of that. Skeptical but fair. Stubborn but open minded. Confident but not cocky.

Ok this is getting too deep. Like I said..... I've had a few beers! :D

There's nothing like having a few beers with friends!!!

Cheers!!

Lyrics to the "Cheers Theme" Song:

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows your name.

You wanna go where people know, people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

You want to go where people know, people are all the same;
You want to go where everybody knows your name.

...now it's getting deep:laugh:

Oh I never doubt that he can can a website listed..my point was anyone can ! and it dosent cost $65..

Now I'm certainly open to taking one of those idle websites of Poppers and also get listed also !.. he will get you listed in days..My way will take a few weeks.. (as I have already stated)

This helps Skin sell his service.. look it took bid 3 weeks ..it took me 3 days.. see it gives Skin a selling point !

What do say Popper and Skin a FRIENDLY competition! I'm game...

Bida,

Seriuosly..there is a market for this. You said you outta do it, then do it. It is a great service for newbies. I'm sure you've noticed the guys charging $299 for optimisation, and scamming everyone.
Here is a tip for someone looking to go that route:
Always check their references. See what keywords there rankings are under, but last but not least; SEE WHERE THEY ARE LISTED UNDER "SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION"!
Almost all of them aren't in the top 20, yet they promise to get you there...hmmmm, now that sounds scammy.
I think bidawinner should go beat them up a little bit, and leave little ol' skinz alone!

We could call it "Google Cage" matches!!! I've never thought of it as a sport to get someone listed, but I'm interested. It could spur on a whole new "event" here at DNF.

Picture it:

Friday night "Google Cage" matches. In this corner is "Bid", in the other corner is "Skinz"...

Announcer (presumably GregR): Gentlemen, I want this to be a clean fight, but a good one. The first one to get a site "meaningfully" listed in Google in the shortest amount of time shall be declared the winner!!

note: Friendly competition in such a manner could spur on an entire domain entertainment industry, all the while benefiting it!! We could bet with DNF $$ on who would be the victor. The winner would get the "winnings"...

Gee, that sounds all too familiar! That's exactly what I said so many times last Sept which many here differed with, and heavily flamed me on it, implying the members were far less value than Mods. But not to downplay the Mods in anyway, as the Mods are very very important.

They also said last Sept this place would go under without the 3 old Mods here and them leaving to start their DS forum. Look what happened, instead DNF is better than ever and many members stayed and joined, and surprisingly many are also paying for membership.

By the way - I didn't mean to single out Izopod. Nameslave & Bid (and anybody else I missed) are great members too. You are all what makes this place what it is today. I toast my beer to you. Happy St. Patrick's day guys!

Tomorrow I will send Bid the other site info - if he really wants to do it. :)
