The first one is a misspelling/typo that doesn't impress me, sorry.

The second one - what type of application are you thinking of? When would someone use the word "anode" in the context of "mobile" (which is what .mobi means)?

You're = contraction of 'you are' as in You're Fired or You are Fired

Sorry don't see much value there. I think that .mobi is only going to work for a limited set of keywords. Would you type those domains in your phone?

I just want to point out my opinion:

Both domain names are not worth the registration fee. I would advise thinking before registering the domain name. I do know that there have been much PR going on regarding .mobi domain names, but anyway you should be more careful.

There are a few things to consider:

Traffic - How can you get traffic to the domain name
Development - If the domain name is good for developing purposes

Let's discuss each of the domain names individually:

yourfired.mobi - I do not really know what you can do with this one. It has nothing to do with .mobi extension. Maybe if you owned yourfired.com, you could develop it into something, but not the one you got. I doubt there would be any end-user interested in that domain name.

anode.mobi - The explanation of anode from Wikipedia:

A positively charged electrode, as of an electrolytic cell, storage battery, or electron tube.
The negatively charged terminal of a primary cell or of a storage battery that is supplying current.

I do not really know what was your intention to register that domain name. I do not see any value in it.

Sorry if I did not meet your expectations, but it was my opinion. I would advise reading more throughout the board to understand current market trends to invest wisely.

Let's just say you'd have to pay me to take those names off you.

best thing I can think of related to yourfired.mobi would be to develop it into a site related to firing people by text message. maybe some would be attracted by a spoof sms tool.

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2003/jun2003/tag-j09.shtml

until developed, I agree there is little intrinsic value in this domain.

as for anode - someone actually registered www.amoeba.mobi and pointed it to sedo but forgot to set it up in his/her sedo account. Whoever it is has lost a small fortune in traffic. Very small. About the size of an amoeba I think. Or a sacrificial zinc anode on a steel ship after 30 years in salt water.

Amazing. The domain is set up correctly now, shortly after my post. And the the lucky owner is - you?

Wow talk about scorching the poor sod!

gixergeo poor thing...

Loads of people are spelling you're fired incorrectly - even in newspaper articles.

Newton you brought back my school days mentioned 'contraction' - I'd forgotten what contractions were called :)

When is there going to be a shift that will displace the .com
If ever. There are very few words that go well with the .mobi, .info or even .org / .net

Maybe at some point things will change - who knows when? I just wish I was born 10 years earlier - so I could get a headstart on the .com's :cheesy:

Bless ya mgstudent :)

Personally I don't think mobi will ever displace the com, although I have hedged bets quite nicely, but mobi could do relatively well. Short relative keywords are my favourites for mobi.
