3D is definitely the future in which watch Television, The viewing experience is amazing, it's so desirable to watch.... The downside right now is the availability of broadcasting in 3D, only 2 cable stations in my area are broadcasting in 3D, and most DVD movies out there are not in 3D format, Add to that the changing technology, The hassle and expense of purchasing 3D Glasses, If you had a party at your home with 30 people in front of the TV, you'd have to be pretty $$$ loaded to have 30 pair of these glasses at $200 a pop... I was reading somewhere they were working on tweaking the technology so you don't have to to wear glasses., now that would be great.

I think once the technology advances and the availability, 3D is really going to take off, and when it does, that portfolio of 3D domains is going to be quite attractive to a great many people.

Not 3D Glasses only, the 3d TV price almost high currently ($3000 - 46" inch)

3DNepal.com
Mt Everest and the Himalayas, need I say more

3DPulse.com
Quite a brandable, catchy name I thought, “keep your finger on the 3D pulse” lol

Hi,

Very Interesting:

Apple awarded patent for glasses-free 3D display system

Apple Inc. 3D Patent

Apple has been awarded a patent for an interesting bit of technology: a display system that capable of delivering high-quality 3D images to multiple viewers.

The kicker? The system requires no special eyewear to make viewing the 3D imagery possible.

Thanks for the info Dan, We were looking into a 3D set and was told by someone this Glass-Free technology was in the making.

On a personal note, I'm very sorry to hear about James MacArthur, I see your a fan.

$3000 is really not much, I was actually surprised at how low they were priced.... With sales tax and a 5 year warranty, I believe we spent over $7000 for our Plasma... The 60" Pioneer Elite Kuro, which I think is the best TV ever made.

I wonder how long this fad is going to go on.

Already, I have been reading about 4D theaters/cinemas.

You, the viewer, will actually be part of the action as your chair (and whole theatre for the matter) will move. I was actually in a 4D type environment once at a theme park. The "ride" was actually a converted 747 training module. Yes, we took off, leaned to the right, leaned to the left, went straight up, straight down and more all the time doing whatever the film was depicting. It was wild, phenomenal, and actually made me nauseated at one point. You are literally thrust into the movie.

Um, I think you are thinking in quite the reverse here.

3D imagery and technology has been the norm in the medical industry for quite some time, as well as the military. I assure you most all electronic technology is used in these industries long before roll out to consumers. Many systems are going to modeling imagery.

Take an MRI of the heart and see it as a separate object where the operator is able to rotate the object in any direction or view from any angle. Physicians are able to view tumors or anomalies in the Anatomy without any invasiveness. Such modeling helps visualize and plan exact surgical procedures even before the first incision. Think of this as a super enhanched holographic image but able to view this on infinite fields od view and angles.

as for 3d, this is nothing new. In the end it is all a 2d plain of view.

And as I mentioned, already 4d is the latest rage for real cinematic experience.

Doc...you could be quite right, as there are many good "4D" domains already registered.

And I agree with everything you said about the medical industry. But it is just now, because of major advances in "3d" lenses etc... This technology has even more uses in the medical field now then it ever has.

Best,
Dan

.... as there are many good "4D" domains already registered

you can hold me somewhat responsible for a handful of those:

if 4d EVER does truly happen and becomes a hot industry, i should be sitting pretty:
(BIG IF)

• 4dHolograms.com

• 4dHolographic.com

• 4dHolographics.com

• 4dProjection.com

• 4dMovieTheater.com

• 4dHG.com (i count and bought this one as holo just in case holo somehow find's its way getting shortened to 'HG')

this may be an older piece, but here are some GREAT 4d hologram images from the medical field that actually led me to buy these names
