I've heard that some sites which offer affiliate programs don't like their affiliate webmasters using enticements to attract consumers, such as: free gifts, and advertising that a percentage of profits are donated to charity.

As I will be donating a percentage of my profits to charity, I was wondering if (and why?) advertising this fact would be objectionable to anyone.

Does anyone know of any sites that do object to this?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can enlighten me.

Visitors from incentive sites are more interested in receiving the incentive than visiting the sponsor. If the sponsor is paying per-lead, or per-click it's not fair to the sponsor. If it's commission based on sales, it's not likely an issue.

I see. Thanks, RJ! :)

I was planning to donate a percentage of the commisions I make from sales (of the sponsor's products) to a charity.

So, it shouldn't be an issue in that case, right?

Cheers!

Yes, it isn't a problem if you're using affiliate programs that pay commissions for actual sales. I would be glad to accept an incentive site into my program if they are sending sales.

Just read and follow the terms and conditions of the affiliate programs you join. Good luck with the new site!

Dotster pays per sale and I will accept any site as long as they are not doing anything underhanded (automatic redirections etc)

By the way, if any of you are using affiliate links on your sites feel free to sign up for the Dotster program at Commission Junction CJ.com (see http://web.dotster.com/resellers/affiliates/), we pay 15% and high sales affiliates can earn up to $330 in extra bonuses per month.

If anyone has questions about using CJ to run an affiliate program for their sites feel free to PM me.
