Can I get help as far as a recommended site to go to for BOTH a free and a paid appraisal service. I am looking to purchase a domain for 22,000 this week and I believe the domain is worth the money but looking for further verification via a paid and also a free service

Thanks

Be very careful of any paid appraisal...make sure that you are confident that they won't offer more money and buy it out from under you.

When I was first starting out, I was also nervous to make some large purchases, without affirmation from others that it was a good deal.

In my opinion, if it is a traffic name, then you can make as accurate an estimate as any other person, based on Overture, google trends, google suggest, statbrain, compete, quantcast, while checking the bids on google and yahoo (Assuming you have an account)

If it is a name based on brandability, then you can use namebio, dnsalesprice and the forums archives to research historical sales prices.

Yes, I have a problem right now where I put in an offer for a name around 20K....the owner then got numerous apprisals and and 2 of the appraisal companies made offers to the owner.

Also, do not get taken by the "certified offer" type services or "domain Broker" services that you pay a company to negotiate with a seller. They will negotiate a price for themselves...not you.

Good luck.
