$0 IMHO, unless there is a company called "books as"

if link popularity from all search engine
no much
if from google.com along
more people would buy

A fine example of a top notch name combined with a very poor extention, it's a real long shot!!

Best of luck!

($0) It sounds bad. Like "Books Ass".

lol. "Book Ass" I might be able to sell it to book.as or someone in that country.

Link popularity of 2,752?!? Can you tell me where? I checked MSN, AV, and Google. Nothing came up. At all.

If the link pop still holds, I'm an interested buyer.

As a brand name, it sucks. Developed for the search engines, it's acceptable.

sure just go to www.whoisdatabase.com and type in "books.as"

It's based on Altavista but it's flawed for .as domain names. Do this... no results except one, but that link is to "www.books.as.ubsb.edu".

Not too interested. In my opinion the domain names still worth something, though, just for good possible Yahoo positioning (if submitted to Yahoo! and you had books in your title, description, and url).

At least $50-$250.

Let's think logically:
  • Altavista's "link:" works with or without "www." or even "*."
  • AV has 2750+ links to "books.as" but has zero links to "www.books.as"
  • AV has 2750+ links but MSN & Google have absolutely none. Google: w/o www | with www
  • Use "link:books.as" alone at Altavista. Go through the sites that supposedly link to it. It's impossible to find a link on any of them... even if you search through their source code.
The above doesn't make sense to me. Hence my conclusion:

Altavista's link check seems flawed with .as domain names... AV doesn't recognize "books.as" alone as a domain name and is giving you results for something else. Links = $0.

The actual link popularity is 0 ZERO! The high number is due to a flaw (feature?) of the search engine. The link popularity is actually for www.books.as.ubsb.edu

You know, you could have tried letting DomainSage now with out the CAPITAL LETTERS AND EXCLAMATION POINT! :p It's like you're rubbing lemon on his wounds.

Ummm, Im new here but I think that if someone was planning on developing it books.as would be a catchy domain and worthwhile for any small to medium sized book store/company or online book store. Its very short and easy to remember of course .as is a second teir extension and this would be the major pitfall of owning this domain. I would still give it three figures prolly in the $100-500 range.

btw.....i went to www.link-popularity-checker.com and found that it says that there are 542817 links and only 50 are from altavista the rest are from lycos and alltheweb and this site dosn't even check to see how many links it has on google or yahoo.

but thats just my 2cents.

I agree. First thing I thought about when I saw the name
was what it sounds like when you say it. Sounds like
books.ass. Catchy? not really.

As far as linkpop goes, its EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to include
the www. under most search engines popularity checks.

Not doing this will result in HIGH (invalid) popularity results.

I wrote the popularity script used on Domain-Retriever.com
(similar to Marketleaps except not as fancy and without google
which always returns invalid info because you can't make
automated queries) so I learned this after comparing data.

$50 max value on that domain.

DGBTech: that's flawed, too, unless you include the "www."

Real linkpop: 0
