Try getting a TM for any specific use, and
try ignoring that sickfvck and his mobi schemes. He's selling his mobis for nickels. But nobody is buying

it was sarcasm. welcome to the internet, enjoy your stay.

Fearless, I just want to say congratulations...this domain has "win" all over it. Awesome generic, over 300,000 exact searches. best of luck in developing it, the domain deserves it.

free free free to get more traffic
find and publish all public domain books, and there are many
stay with that and google ads
when the traffic becomes really huge sell it or try affiliate by selling
the key is the people to find the "only" free bookstore in the net
....my opinion...

I'm trying to avoid reinventing the wheel.

Thats a good strategy but you can actually invent a wheel with its tyres as that would be even better. A comparison site doesn't seems to be the ideal development though from my opinion.

Its a bookstore. What do you think people are expecting to find.

Books from 100+ bookstores, a comparison site.

I'm doing a test pilot run with Rob Monster. I'm thinking a book comparison site might be better.

This might work if you forced the reader to read online without downloading and have text ads on each page. Is that what Google is already doing?

I am guessing you should start a book store, just going to go ahead and throw that out there. ;)

Maybe 100% affiliate marketing so you don't have to handle sales, support, etc. Or if you don't mind doing that, start with drop shipping and then build from there and put Barnes and Noble as well as Borders out of business imho.

good luck, awesome domain name!

Are those .com or .mobis? If Dot mobis ill trade for a few LLL.coms if he doesn't accept your offer.

Reading a SEO thread gave me the development bug. What should I do with this baby?

Fearless, that is a great dn!

The only books I know are text books; ebooks (Amazon, B&N, Sony Reader) - maybe check out the Kindle Nation blog; and sport (offshore sport books; race books) books. Of all, sport books and sport book advertisers bring in the $$$.

I assume you are leaning towards the text book bookstore, but check out eog dot com for an idea of what advertisers will do to get exposure. I believe Ken still runs the place.

Congrats on your domain name.

Now that the 'paper' publishing is kaput, the electronic publishing is up & running.
With the right marketing - north of $10 m sale is attainable .
But the right biz model can generate $10 mil every year

If I were you I would use the Zend Framework Amazon component and make a site based off of Amazon. You instantly would have 100,000 pages of content and I am pretty sure with that domain you could generate $100 per day easily by the end of the first month.

I have ben reading about books and what not recently. Turns out over 25% of revenue comes from unpopular books, these sales are achieved by places such as amazon offering other readers recommend X links. Thought that was interesting. 25% is a TON of revenue.
