Hi domainers,

I have a domain name portfolio of 100+ domain names. For those domainers who have a medium (100+) to large portfolio (1000+) of domain names, what would be your yearly sales conversation rate? I've read that it was around 2-3% of your portfolio a year but I can't remember or trace back the relevant article that made mention of this statistic.

Cheers,

Well numbers like that are used.. But really it depends on the portfolio quality. You can have 10K names and never sell a single one..

I totally agree

you can't just go and register a 100 or so domains and think you will sell a percentage of them within a year.

I have about 300 or less domains now, down from a thousand or so years ago.
within the past 5 years, average sales are around 4 - 5 names per year.

some years I may sell a couple more, and some a few less.
but the price at which the names are sold can be the difference.

as some could sell 50 - 100 or more domains in a year, but their average selling prices could be less than $500 each
while another could sell 4 or 5 names in 4 to 5 figure ranges.

also depends on whether you are a passive domainerwho waits for offers to come in, or an aggressive domainer who reaches out to to try and make sales.

imo...

I think that is true for any domainer holding quality names.
and..... the more one understands the value of their names, the least likely they are willing to sell them, for less than they think they are worth.

so, they hold for right buyer, who can pay asking price.

imo..
