So tell us, did you buy the domain or it expired?
Because alexa.com still lists a US address in its contact info.

And by the way, saying that we have a problem with the Turks is reverse racism.

While your question remains valid, it should be pointed out that in many cases the registrant details listed with Alexa can be years out of date.

I am sure you a dandy guy with a dandy company. But please don't pretend you have been singled out because you are Turkish. Allow me to state some facts rfom a prospect buyer's perspective:

The domain was listed for appraisal under a different nick who claimed in his signature to own the doman name. When I offered an appraisal earlier I was offering it to him, not you. Now it turns out he is a (silent?) partner.

Your ICQ-listed last name does not match the registrant last name on the whois for the domain in question. I usually don't do this type of thing, looking up ICQ's, or care what they enter as their last name. However, if am to write you a check for $10K, I have the right to wonder why do you have to conceal, alter your identity, or use a proxy (without stating it is a proxy) when you are inviting a transaction. If you actually have nothing to hide, why the inconsistencies?

Plus, you live far away for most of us buyers here WHICH MEANS THAT OUR JUDICIAL & LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM CANNOT EASILY REACH YOU IN CASE OF FRAUD. So your record should be clean, not quetstionable.

Most importantly, tHis forum relies heavily on the honor system. Doing business with a lot of members here has proven that hiding or altering your identity will not get you far ESPECIALLY if you are trying to muster a deal in mutiple thousands of dollars!!!

All we are asking really is for you to be honest (not that you are not!) This said, again, I want to stress that you may be a great guy and very legit but these flags were raised and you should know next time why this happened and why it will keep happening.

Cheers and good luck with your crap.com!

My inquiry is related to the method of acquisition of the domain. Here we have someone that claims ownership of the name since 1994 (it's indirectly stated in the message about owning a 6-digit ICQ uin from the same era). There is no way that Alexa's info is that much outdated. The previous owner data is no more than 2 years old.

For the record, the WHOIS info changed again:

COM, CRAP [email protected]
Yok Evim
Sokak Yok
Istanbul, Fatih 23150
TR

By the way, "yok" in turkish means "no" or literally "does not exist". "Sokak" means "street". And "Evim" means "my home".

So the domain record says "no home" "no address". Go figure.

TimeChange, I agree there's something fishy going on with this name.

I mentioned the Alexa issue because in my experience, some of the names I grabbed a long time back, still shows the former registrant's name at Alexa.

timechange is correct. the poster insinuated that he has owned the domain for as long as he has owned the ICQ number, which can be taken as "many years in the (domain) business".

Sometimes you go with your gut feeling. I would ve prefered a direct assertioin that the ICQ was legally reg'ed or had been purchased later instead of a blurry statement about the life of the domain.

Hey again because of my server i couldn't check my emails so i couldn't post here.
Here it is : My Icq information is : Sticks Sade Délly .
Name : Sticks
Middle Name : Sade
Surname : Delly (on my icq information)

Sticks Sade Délly the name i call myself and my friends call me like that too.If you want to know about Sticks he is not an illegal person Sticks is a black man name and i've been using it for about 3 years. I got a real tattoo on my chest says STICKS.
-----It was information about my icq and my nick------
Ok i will sell the domain to an active DNFORUM Member if you are interested. I know it's not advertisements forum but just to make sure. I will use 2checkout (my active account for 2 months) So user can chargeback. But as i said i have to protect myself against fraud so i will sell it to a DNFORUM member.
---------------------------
I changed the domain information because after my post and my tries on selling it and listing it on afternic i got tons of Forgot Password emails in my account. Why would that be ? Guess it!
---------------------------
Yes , i am inside this business but i am not that prof. As most of you live in the US and me in this Country ! Turkey ! Yes i didn't have much chance to make money to get snapnames account , register domains or buy stuff on the net. I'm not trying to make you cry or tryin to show my poorness. Just to proove something here.
----------------
Now i got reseller account on enom , i have MY OWN godaddy , opensrs and such other accounts as i can pay now. I am only 19 so i have the right to use or own a credit card .
----------------
I work on the net : affiliate programs , lowcost turkish domains , lowcost hosting , and website sponsoring. I get a lil bit money from them.
-----------------
Thread started with D4Y's post and i continued i am sure he will be back online soon.

Anything else to ask ?
I am a legal broker (even if not a prof i call myself so)
I am a legal buyer
I am a legal icq user ( Note : When your icq or email accounts are stolen you can get them back by mailing the site or icq admin providing your details. My icq was stolen once and i got it back as it was registered to my main email but it's private on my icq info)
I am a legal internet user and a webmaster.
Please guys please i don't want to go on fighting about this anymore.
Once again it is my right to change my domain name information anytime. If i'm wrong please someone correct me.
Have a nice day .

So, are you selling or what? And if so, for how much?

-WC

PS: AOL doesn't support any stolen account stories, I had a situation where my nice old 6 digit account was deleted for no known reason, and I tried to get it going again to no avail. i even considered opening an AOL account to attempt to make it look like they have a monetary interest in keeping me around and happy.
But just wanted you to know, they don't help out with ICQ identity issues, just goto their support forum and there are the cries of many people in the situation that their account was stole and there's nothing to do about it.

What to dooo :( If i want to make a website with that name it would be great but profit ? No affiliate programs in turkey , i got nothing to sell so what?

I would think someone in Turkey could make a lot more money with spor.com as opposed to crap.com.

Imagine owning sports.com. If there were no sports in Turkey, that would be a different story.

Yes but in turkey what to do with that ?
Sell products ? - I don't have any / there aren't even affiliate programs in turkey to sell.
Affiliates Programs ? - I told you
Buyer ? - Who would buy it ? Turkey is not a rich country so who to sell it ? There are many domains worth thousands but no one would buy it.
So what please give me an idea so i can do something ?

Find someone is Turkey that has a lot of money. Partner with that person. Develop a site like sports.com or espn.com. You can corner the sports market for the whole country. If people pay to see sporting events there, then you have potential advertisers.
