My daughter is 11, so I'm trying to picture her last year going online and buying a domain name like CRAP.com...I just can't see it.

As I recall, Network Solutions was the only registrar back in 1994 and I don't think they'd launched WorldNIC yet. That means you had to write a check. Who signed it? You weren't old enough. I mean, that must have been a heck of an adventure, dealing with temlates and everything, as I'm not even sure NSI had launched the InterNIC.net website yet (I may be mistaken on this point, as I wasn't really a World Wide Web surfer then...I was still in school using Gopher).

I'm sure it would put everyone's minds at ease if you'd share the details of your adventure with us. It just all seems to be very enterprising for a 10 year old kid.

It's evident that the intention is a quick sale to 'move' the domain. I have no doubt left that it was acquired without a legitimate financial transaction and therefore ANY financial offer to the current holder is a good offer. The $3k - $15k is just ...crap
