Whilst cellular.co.uk is definitely nice, it's a word rarely used in the UK at all. Go and ask 50 people in any UK major town high street what 'cellular' means to them and I'd be surprised if that many knew.

affiliates.co.uk is very nice though. I guess you've got a buyer.?Maybe hold onto it for a while? The UK hasn't been bitten as much by the affiliate craze, at least not yet.

This is the thing with .co.uk - I have database of some damn nice names which would be four or five digit sellers under .com but probably aren't worth registering under .co.uk. That's the pain of it! But then it's also an art; picking out which is likely to be valuable amongst the seemingly great choice that exists.

You may find that some .co.uk domain names, whilst not immediately seemingly as valuable as others, may actually end up being more so. It honestly depends on how the word/phrase is viewed in the UK.

For example goalkeeper.co.uk is a domain I singled out from over 20 today and acquired. Whilst it probably doesn't appear to be fantastic in comparison to cellular and affiliates, it does has have a very significant UK relevance . What do you think?

Whoevever got journal.co.uk did well. winners.co.uk was also quite nice and one I didn't noticed either. benz.co.uk was also nametracked and is one I had on as being potentially interested in for the traffic. However apparently it's TMed up to the hilt so probably not worth it. The other ~20 or so were ones I think I am pretty much going to be passing over. They'd be nice under .com but not so nice under .co.uk

I've just seen that CenturyNames.com has been through and 'vacuumed up' a singificant number of the ~20 I passed over. Still a few more to drop though.

Out of interest what sort of names would you be talking about and what traffic would they generate??
Currently my highest traffic name is freesex.co.uk and that gets about 150 type-ins a day, I also have millionaire.co.uk and at the peak of "who wants to be a millionaire" that got about 180 a day - down to about 45 now. Apartments.co.uk gets about 30 a day.
(All pure type-ins with no search engine refferals)

Well taking those three names:

apartments.co.uk - good name. However one thing to consider; 'apartments' isn't in major use in the UK in comparison to say 'flats'. Still a worthwhile name to have though.

freesex.co.uk - if it's getting sex traffic, then use it for a sex/porn related site. The stats will speak for themselves.

millionaire.co.uk - relevant to the TV Show but what else apart from someones personal vanity?

UK is a much more specialised market. Genki cited cellular.co.uk earlier. If that was cellular.com it'd be worth a mint. But for the UK, it's not a word that's used very much.

Research your names with the UK in mind.

Good point, except that I'm really just measuring the typein traffic (if any)... if the answer turns out to be "yes, there's some useful typein traffic" then I'll build a separate mini-site for it with UK affiliate links.
