After reading the whole thread, I just can't believe "porn.mx" was available... and I didn't see it...
I was searching for premium name in spanish and just checked a few in English, but heck I guess I wasn't in a horny mood to think in porn.... :(

I registered Pharmacy.mx, Drugs.mx and Pills.mx. People going to Mexico for drugs is a HUGE industry for them and probably one of their top money makers.

Yeah, I was surprised that the extension wasn't taken. Fischer, if you have experience in building domains in Spanish, let me know. I am definitely interested in trying to set this up.

Yes, truth, but I still don't get what's the plan with these names, nor the other one about pornography.

Well, in the case of drugs related you are asumming or expecting people in the state will type "drugs.mx" expecting info/stores for drugs in Mexico.. that's interesting, because I, personally, perform searches in the country's language... BUT... certainly in this case, for an American is valid to assume that he will find information in English, which again in this case it is totally valid due the value of the market.

Now, respecto the porn name.... Vjizzle is asking for help in doing a website in Spanish...mmh... interesting again... and the reverse to the other guy, he is expecting Mexican people to type "porn" in English, and expect to see the content in Spanish...

I'm not criticizing at all... I simply just don't know. :sigh2:

As tested in other ccTLD, it is just a matter of time before you can get decent revenue.

Cheers.

Couple of website translators - Google Translate, and Yahoo's Babel Fish can translate a whole website.

wrong language. Why would you register something in english. They all type in via spanish.

I think some people buying english keywords hope they will fetch a good price at auction based on the keyword alone.

I registered fly.mx last friday before the 9/1/2009 land rush. I paid full price ($800 USD). I am interested to see if this will take off.

Was that a pun?

Anyway, I only registered 1 domain name that is huge in English, but I know that in Spanish, it is spelled differently ("o" at the end). I still think it may be a good reg and can get traffic in for both English and Spanish customers.

fly.mx should be awesome.

Fly to Mexico.

Buy travel tickets, hotel reservations, maybe rent a car, plan a tour, plan a vacation... absolutely huge potential, good luck!

Aye, I picked up xxx and have already had 3 emails of interest for the domain. 2 of emails were received at 1 and 2pm EST on Sept 1st....

Sweet! I parked mine at Sedo. Maybe I will get offers there?

Did you get any cool offers so far? Do you plan on developing or selling?

Ok, but here's the interesting part:

Rights or legitimate interests
The Respondent is not known by, or acquired any rights in the Complainant’s marks.
The Respondent has used the disputed domain name for a website that falsely purports to be the Complainant’s official Iranian website. The Respondent also offered training and consulting services to users through the use of a modified and out-dated Sun training manual. Such use, which intentionally attempts to trade on the fame of the Complainant’s marks, does not constitute a legitimate interest, or a bona fide offering of goods and services.

I recommend consulting with Traverse Legal.

Yes, it needs to be consulted with a legal person, because SunMicrosystems operates its offices across Mexico (www.mx.sun.com) and in many countries of Latin America.

I think "sun" is generic on its own and as long as you dont develop it to do the same thing sun microsystem does I cant see where that would be a WIPO violation. my 2 cents
