Well I have gotten half a dozen recent inquiries regarding this name,
the best offer so far has been $1200.
What's a fair price in the current market? Keep, or Sell?
I'm inclined to keep it for development.

Have you investigated/researched anything about the buyer? I have learned to do this because I have sold names for way too little relative to the amount the buyer was able to afford. This name has super nice potential IMO. I would hardball the buyer because I place this name in the same category as templatemonster.com etc....

Whatever you decide to do...I wish you luck.

Well, just sold this for $5K . Proabably should have kept it, but ?
Oh well, funding for ongoing projects.
Personally I think it has the hallmarks of a very good domain name.
Brandable/memorable, major consumer market segment.
I looked at a lot of other domains with DVD in them, and really
did not find anything comparable, or worth the bother.

From a business perspective, the lost opportunity cost is probably considerably more than
$5K. Certainly as memorable as NetFlix, or dvdEmpire, cdBaby, ...
Our plan was to develop this in 6 to 12 months, but I don't know that we would have had
sufficient funds at that time to have a large inventory of DVDs for an ecommerce site.
Just a business decision, finish our current ecommerce site, and the funds help out with
current inventory requirements. Only problem, since we are not domainers, and selling domains is not our business, we will get hit with the short term capital gains, Ouch! ;)
We really just collect names for future development projects, and that was one of the
better ones IMHO.
