I got nothing, which means I either finally tried some names that other services got, or they had issues. Oh well, that's what tomorrow is for...

They did get some, so not a zero day.
Maybe Your bid was $10 and You simply don`t see the auctions. If anyone bid $30 then You don`t see them.

I don't think the $30 min , was a good idea for Enom.

this companys are going to get the gov to regelate the industry in the end.

let the market chouse the value of a domain, they can get more attention to domains, they can provide buyers in knowledge that would make them bid more.

but putting stupid minimums , and playing games like pool does.

in the end , they would loose.

The names I enter daily, maybe 15-20 are all going higher then $30, so I really don´t see any change.

its the stupid way some companies think.

they think its better to raise minimum ,but its not , lets look at what used to be
Goto.com now known as overture.
they used to start bides at cent .

at 1 cent they got paid for everything , every person on every word, even words that included the word "FREE" i remember , i used to provide syndication for their results and people would make my site their homepage , just because they loved the results.

their was everything, today anything with "FREE" is eater not being bid on or some kind of scam.

and most people avoid Overture results at all costs.

in the end , someone else would come around and take them out of biz, i am sure.

Alright, I think I've got this figured out. The enom auction page ain't 100 auctions anymore, try 760! Even at 50 a page, its pretty hard to wade through.

While I thought I "got nothing" yesterday, I was wrong. Today I find myself in an unknown number of auctions. It appears the new reverse auctions are not included in the Club Drop Auction email you may get. Here's my take on the new system.

I'm in private auctions where I bid $30 +. The names I bid $10 on are now in "public" REVERSE auctions and my bid is $10. Permution D I think (http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=81575).

Funny, it appears that instead of me getting the names only I bid $10 on, which is Permutation A, I am now the only bidder in reverse auctions, Permutation D. Or maybe there were multiple $10 buyers, and they gave the $10 bid randomly to one of them, and its up to the others to bid it up. (Kind of like when a $10 name's auction expired in a tie, sometimes you got it, sometimes not.

So I have rising public and privates and sinking reverse auctions, and I can't page through the 700 names fast enough 50 at a time. So my question is this...

If a domain X leaves the station at Permutation A, going south at $5 per every 4 hours, and domain Y leaves Permutation D going north at $20 per hour, and it takes 4 minutes to read a screen of 50 auctions and to bid on 3 auctions, and firefox has 20 tabs across the top so I can jump from auction to auction. Then, what color are the train engineer's eyes?

Holy smokes....

I think the minimum lets them know where to allocate their registry connections more effectively and allows them a better chance to catch the good names more often.

So where as before they may have had 100 domains/day that all got $10 bids now they have 100 domains/day and say 25 domains that get $30 bids. Now they can allocate more resources to those 25 domains that are most likely the premium or better domains droping.

funny, now the 700+ auctions are down to 250. My guess is a whole lot of auctions were showing yesterday that should have been private to the people in the auctions? Its not like they all closed in the past 12 hours...

Any other ideas?

A smooth day today. I had a mix of results that makes me think the've got it working as advertised as of today.

I "won" right away some names that I bid $10 on. So I must have been the only bidder.

Some of my other $10 names ended up in public reverse auctions, with me entered with a $10 bid, and the number of bidders being 2 or more, and all of us listed as "tied".

Some names that were at $30 or above, where I bid $30, they are now in private auctions and, of course, climbing fast.

So, all in all, I see it working properly today. Course, this is just my take on it, with my small set of target names.

actually the $30 doesnt really affect me. Most $30 start bid would have been climb up fast.

its actually not as bad as i thought, you have to bid 30 if you want a private bid.

thats fair!!

hay , they want a minimum of 30 if you want to be the only one fighting over this name

its OK , so no more abusing their server , its OK with me.

sometimes people would bid like crazy over a name that is not worth s**t and then
their is the time that for $60 i got a name that is so them good.
haha

so i always play , if i see the people that bid against me are idiots , i just let them win
whats the point.

if they want to pay $3000+ for a name with no traffic , with 3 words in it and its a .net
well good for them
:)

Guys, i have to be honest. I like the new system better than the old one.

They have been picking up more names because it seems they can now concentrate on getting the better names instead of getting every name.

I've also picked up a few gems for like $60 that people decided not to big up to $30 on.. names i didnt come across when i was looking through my lists initially.

Sure eNom is making more cash off the way its being done now, no question about that.. but so what?.. Good on them if i owned the company i would be trying to make more cash and not less as well! :) I only use clubdrop for drops and ive picked up 2-300 pretty decent names this year so far.. all .com and all with some typeins at least so i have to say i am satisfied with the service.
