A high traffic domain I have there has way less traffic today...I'm guessing due to their servers..

Unless you are using their dns servers you are assuming wrong.....

Even their dns servers are up...just not the website....

it's still down. :-(

I agree that it seems like a DDoS attack on the main site.

Sucks... I had so much to do in my account this morning, but it's the first time I've ever had a problem with Dynadot so I can't complain.

If Dynadot are so brilliant (a) why are they still down now ? (b) why have not not
bothered to post a message here with info ?.

I have just checked one of 2 domains that I have hosted with them and
they are both down even now.

I just spoke with them and asked if they had an ETA when the site will be back up. they said not sure they are looking into it, but probably about an hour.

They're not sure? That's never a good sign.

Update from someone on another domain forum:

"I just called them.

They had a major hardware crash / issue.

Looking at around 8 more hours from now until they come back online.

He couldn't answer any questions regarding the API, or deleting domains."

Dynadot has been good to me over the past 4 years that I have used them, but this really really sucks.

Rockefeller,

So this is pretty rare for Dynadot then? I've only been with them since December, so hearing from someone that's been with them for years is great feedback.

I was so happy that I'd finally found a registrar that has everything I need, including an intuitive/powerful UI, so I've been transferring all of my domains there over the past couple months (I have about 100 there so far, but many more transfers are planned).

So although it sucks in the short term, if this is a complete fluke and it doesn't happen with them often, I'm going to stick it out with them.

Then lets hope they did proper backups.
