How to choose a good domain name

Hi,

I'm not a domainer nor work in online marketing, I got NO knowledge about domain name.

Am looking for a domain name for my personal usage, to choose the best domain name I know I should choose at least the cheapest domain provider and highest search domain name right..

Been searching through online and I have found that Exabytes Network domain name start with as low as SGD 34.50 and I believe this is their Christmas promotion and it is gonna end before the year end.

Wonder whether purchase my domain name in Exabytes is a wise choice or not.
And I need some tips to choose good domain name.
