nice domain for the European market due to the hyphen, but even the word internetbanking in German (which is where they love the hyphen domains) its one word, but depending on the traffic it receives I would say high $xxx to low $xxxx

i think its better to develop such names as the search traffic might be good for such names with hyphens

he can put links to famous banks and put adsense at the side or also affiliate links of banks( for example creditcard applications)

Simon's advice is very much on-target. And hyphens don't hurt strong keywords.

I really don't know where you got that information.
In Germany a non hyphen domain will always be worth much more than a hyphen domain.

You see, in German combined words are normaly written together, and not two words, like in English. This kind of words will accept no hyphens. The exceptions, words that are not written together, that is where hyphens are sometimes accepted. In those cases, mostly both versions are taken and the version with Hyphens is used for SEO.

if you look at alexa ranking(German sites), there are 3 hyphenated sites out of top 10
so i guess that explains it

in fact, there is speculation that hyphenated domains perform better in search engines than their non hyphenated versions.

Nice name, might be good to develop, $xxx. Surely I agree with Simon that hyphenated domains are common in Germany e.g. dw-world.com

Hi,
it's an excellent domain imo.
Sometimes hyphens look better in domains (rarely, but sometimes)
In this case i would rather have the non-hyphenated version, however this is still a lovely domain.
As Simon correctly points out Germans love a hyphen, & they are big players.
In fact so does half the world.
Search engines love them too.
I have very few, but i wouldn't let it stop me buying a domain i would merely see it a s an opportunity to get a better price!
Many endusers tbh haven't got a scooby-doo how the internet works or the finer points of our domaining snobbery! LOL :biggrin1:
Just visit dnjournal.com & see how many staggeringly bad domains sell for stacks.
I can only advise you what i would do with this.
Develop, don't spend much, get a ranking. Wait for an enduser & don't sell to a reseller.
Minimum $x,xxx low, perhaps quite a bit more.
Cheers, Predator
nb: notice regged in '96, adds a bit more imo

I didnt say hyphen domains are better or worth more, I said Germany is one of the few countries in which hyphen domains have a high value for the right domains, and like I said, this word would be better without hyphen because it is one word, but for domains that contain two or more actual words in german like day-and-night (tag-und-nacht) the hyphens are better. This domain would be really good developed into a price-comparison website for different online banking providers

Now we are talking the same language. That was a good example.
Only a few weeks ago there was another good example:

urlaub-mit-hund.de = vacation with dog

was sold on Sedo for mid x.xxx

This kind of Domain performs superbly for search engines.
2 weeks later you could find this domain as first result on Google.

Not bad considering 1.6 million results and an Overture of 6,000
