I am gambling and grabbed a few dozen more LLL (M word) this week that recently dropped.
(M word) has to be planning something (I hope). Won't be my first domaining mistake if I am wrong. What the heck happened to all those financial backers they had and why didn't (M word) use them up?

the last LLL.mobi's that were possible to have dropped was 3 weeks ago.

there are around 2,000 still available to register... there are not anymore dropping for at least 4 months.

IMO folks are getting too negative about .mobi and believe it is far from being dead as some domainers have said.

I have never been a big supporter of .mobi but do have about a dozen good mobi names.

An example of how some big businesses use .mobi is MIBANK.MOBI which site M&I Bank (one of the larger nationwide banks) is recently promoting a lot and even giving you a free mobile phone if you open an acct.

Eh, domainers on this very forum were proclaiming it was dead and they did not like it and would not touch it.

This was in 2004.

Yes, nearly 2.5 years before it was actually released domianers were proclaiming it a bastard child of ICANN.

Funny thing is, domainers did not stop it from happening.

Just like domainers are not going to stop the next two waves.

Actually, the next two waves are tsunamis.

Yes .mobi is drowning and is about to be swept by the tsunami of new technology :)

well, turn on Fox News right now (or anytime of the day)

notice their brand new logo in the left hand corner that is there 100% of the time.. it switches between FoxNews.COM and FoxNews.MOBI

seriously, im not one to overhype these mobi sightings but that one is huge. technology isnt going to build useful mobile websites from the ground up, it will only make it possible to view the old sites easier, which is a MUST for mobile internet to explode. you have to have to full internet..... however, as the trend shows people will continue to build mobile websites from the ground up.... whether its on a .com, .mobi, or .tel (ok joking about that last one ;))

<edit> I forget you are in canada eh.... heres link to a live feed:

Anyone know the best (free) program to make a .mobi site which meets the mobi compliant tech requirements?

I have a dozen .mobi's with good keywords and in mobile relevant categories I want to develop, at least as minisites.
