Please give me your appraisal opinions on MetroArea . com

Originally regged in 1996.

Thanks.

I recently acquired this name for a development project and am wondering if I got a good deal or overpayed...It was not cheap though.

Please, let me know your appraisal opinions if you have a minute.

Cheers.

I would really appreciate opinions on this domain.

I think it has huge potential as a craigs list type site...let me know what you think.

I honestly think the name sounds a lot better than it actually is, it is not specific enough for my taste and at the same time doesnt include enough...like you said a classified site might be a good idea,..not too sure about the value..it almost sounds like you are somewhat of an end user for this domain because you are looking to develop..
in terms of pricing I would say low $x.xxx reseller, more to an end user

I really like this name Onward! It is very generic, and could have a multiplicity of uses. Will not get much type in traffic (zero OVT w/ext), but the value goes beyond mere PPC. For developing I think you have a great name to work with! Id buy it. Low xx,xxx.

This is true. I am going to develop this one (and you may be right about the reseller price in many areas). I live in the washington dc area...the MD, DC, & VA suburbs are known as the "metro area"...I'm going to start in my metro area and see how that works.

As a note...since I obtained this name, I have already turned down an xx,xxx offer (although my roi would not have been that much)...I may be crazy, but I think this has a great deal of potential.

Thanks.

Thanks for the message Giode. It does get some type in and revenue, but you are right...this will see it's potential as a developed site, not as a ppc machine.

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate. More opinions welcome...also, if you have a better development idea. I would love to hear it.

First thing I thought of was "DC, VA, MD, and a lil smidgen of WV" when I saw the name.

Father works in DC, Front Royal, Frederick and etc so I am familiar with the area and the amount of money that is there.

With proper developement and marketing, this name's value could explode through the roof.

A 'craigs list' for the Metro Area.

This name is pretty nice for development...lots of potential uses...real estate, traffic, etc...just some ideas. If I think of anymore I'll shoot you a message. Ideas never hurt. :) Good luck.

Thanks for the note devildog. Starting in the dc metro area is where I am initially targeting with this as it is such a common term around here.

Thanks for the suggestions...actually the offer I received was from a realtor in my area...so you may be onto something. If you think of anything else let me know.

I am interested in all opinions here as I would like to have a twist so my project is not just a craigs list clone...
