Unquestionably a scam. Same seller that sold John.com...twice...to the same person.

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d...inking07&include=0&rows=50&sort=3&completed=1

His feedback is obviously trumped up. Probably bidding on his own crap. He is hiding behind private listings but if the domains actually changed hands there would have been an update in the WHOIS database and there is none.

Will report this to ebay.

PayPal is the "ONLY" acceptable payment method for this auction. "Serious bidders only"', don't bid if you are not able to pay within an "hour" of the auction ending.

No way I'd Paypal this guy.

Did a bunch of research when it first went up, 100% scam..ends on the weekend so you can't contact the company..all his other domains are in privacy and he won't use escrow...Beachie won JOHN.com from him twice on ebay and neither times was it legit (of course he did'nt paypal, lol) Would like to find this guy... ;)

No way I'd Paypal this guy.

Chances are he opened a comp Paypal account, nothing confirmed, so he can only withdraw $500 once or make a purchase.

If someone did pay and didnt get the domain, they would for sure get there $$ back from Visa, Mastercard or a ACH transaction.

I've been looking at it as well... sent him an email asking him why the whois didn't match the ebay info and he said that he moved from Virginia.

He's good though... put a little TRUTH into the LIE.

This is premeditated scamming. Not some punk. He thought it out and planned it. Criminal all the way.

Okay sometimes I am clueless - LOL - so what is he doing - bidding up the price pretending to be a legit bidder but then he got stuck with the name twice - that's why it never sold bc no real bidders had the winning bid??

The other domain he's selling on eBay is CHANGFENGUU-CT3.COM.

Browsing that domain reveals an email address of [email protected].

Googling that reveals another domain for sale, ButtForSale.com.

WHOIS shows the owner of that domain to be a Damien Williams from Poughkeepsie.

2 minutes of research.

For some reason the name doesnt fit the pic.

Paypal is offering a whopping $200 of protection though

He found a good domain that has a private whois, so he's selling a domain he doesnt own to bankroll his Paypal account, he knows he has to deplete the funds quick, so he's most likely going to buy a Plasma TV or a set of chrome wheels for his ride....something like that.

I love this eBay statement in the same auction:

As the internet evolves, eBay continues to strike a balance between preserving transparency and protecting our Community of members. eBay has decided to change how bid history information is displayed so bad guys cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to view Bidder User IDs on the Bid History page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, applied consistently to the Bid History page.
