Just wanting to get an idea what my domain names are worth.

Thank you!

The names aren't worth anything, but right now there are plenty of good names out there at reasonable prices. My suggestion is to browse multiple forums looking for a few decent dotcoms that make sense. Great bargains can be had, and if you put in a year or two buying a few names here and there for $50 each by the time the economy picks up you will have a nice stash of names that you should be able to sell for a decent profit.

Stick to the basics. If you can't explain the name to a total stranger that is not a domainer then you are probably on the wrong track. Not many people have even heard of dotmobi. The extention failed. The scammers had their fun and now the music has stopped and the party is over. The party will likely never be over for dotcom as long as the world uses the Internet.

I also see nothing of value here. .mobi was a .flop Only a few category killer single word domains hold any value - and even then not much.
It happens, move on, chalk it up as a learning experience, and stop paying registration fees on these.
I think there is some value investing to be done in some alternate extensions like .us and .biz , but don't get too deep on any of those either. Also a lot of bargains to be found in .org - especially on this forum.

Thank you 2gajgops.

I am following your advice! What do you think of THRU.biz?

The term needs to fit with the .biz extension. Try saying the name before the word "business" - does it make sense? Home - business, Landscaping - business, both sound good, so home.biz and lanscaping.biz would hold value to me.
thru.biz = thru - business , doesn't make sense or compliment the TLD, so no value. And while I see some value in some .biz and more in .us, I still limit how many I pick up - these are in my long term hold portfolio.

I agree with everyone. .mobi is a failed extension and so is .biz unless you use it in a specific way that 2gajgops suggested. #1 rule you should follow is to stick with dot coms. I know it is harder but diamonds are usually hard to find. You just have to keep digging and be persistent. Look for a niche topic... maybe something that you do for work or have a specialty in. I try to keep a balance between buying dropped domain names, new registered ones and those that I buy from other domainers.

I learned a lot from your answers.

Thank you all!
