Hi

Recently purchased ya-ok.com - what's your appraisal?
I find it has high brand appeal (maybe younger market?)

In the 1980's in the UK I can well imagine that this would have been snapped up at a high price if it had existed then (yuppi slang market). I cannot see such a high-market price today for it though.

Having said the above we all know that if you can get an end-user involved then the sky is the limit. On a normal reseller basis though I would not be surprised to see it sell for low to mid $xxx.

Still a nice domain, very memorable.

so i guess it's safe to say that i got lucky in catching this one? lol

I purchased it maybe a week or two ago at dot easy, i think it was my 1st ever. anyhow, my week turned into a domain buying blitz, and education.... i didn't even know that there are reseller markets or auctions in place to buy unleased names!

my question, to billbo, or anyone: if this name has value, why wasn't it purchased asap by "domainers"? (sorry don't know the official title for such a person).

Hi Josh,

Generally a domain name has value in the 'eyes of the beholder' unless it is a domain that gets loads of traffic (visitors per day). There are also millions upon millions of domains available. I have registered a domain and sold it within the week for xx times what I registered it for, I have also not registered a name and seen someone else register it and sell it for xx times reg fee. SUch is life.

I was just thinking about your domain, you might try parking it at Sedo.com (I hardly ever recommend them by the way - but there is a reason this time). Make sure it gets listed on the German version of Sedo. The Germans are much less adverse to hyphens than the US or UK, also it may be that a German member might just be interested in the 'Ya-ok.com' (yes I know that the correct version is for yes is 'Ja').

Anyway, back to why someone else didn't register it, because you got there first. Now your task is to find the person who wants it now.

By the way, welcome aboard the greatest business on Earth and good luck with your endeavors.

Thanks Billbo for the advice, serves to remind a beginner like myself that there can be domain appeal across all borders...:)

And, "ouch" Batman - 0 to 10 resell? because of the hyphen? how many 2 word combinations, this short, this easy to remember, exist ?(even with a hyphen).
