Seems as if both Flowers.mobi and Sportsbook.mobi ($300,000+ in combined sales) were both busts...

I get the sick feeling, we all got fooled! I'll still invest in dot mobi for trade.

Betting.mobi

Cinemas.mobi

Coupon.mobi

Betting.mobi is on Snap with a bid of $3,100, only 6 hours to go...

You could say this about any domain name selling in a drop auction.

Because most of these people are cheap and dont want to make anyone rich, so they wait for it to drop to bid!

exactly, its very disturbing but its what i see happen over and over, they wont buy your domain in the aftermarket and as soon as you drop it, they go into bidding wars.

The company that dropped the majority of these names is based around PPC. They evidently didn't feel they were getting enough clicks on the parked pages. They had been sent numerous email offers in the past for names and never responded to any of them.

So they didn't get enough clicks on a newly released TLD with almost no natural traffic and that few people know about.

If you think about it, this is not really different than someone going to buy a product on eBay. You go there to grab a bargain but I have also seen auctions going above the price of the product in high street shops.

Another point here is that many of the domains that dropped were bought by bidders for $59 or $60. If I had asked the price to the previous owner it is likely that he would have asked me to make an offer in the $x,xxx range.

I too question whether the sportsbook.mobi sale was real. i have even more information that makes it seem even fishier.

Another published SCAM SALE that never happened. Of course, nobody does anything to the scammers, so they move on to the next extension. It looks like http://www.sportsbook.mobi/ is still showing "coming in 2007" on its 3 cent homepage. Another scam nobody cares about. Next up, the .co extension.

Well, I bought Sportsbook.MX when the .MX CCTLD went live last year. I will sell for less than Sportsbook.mobi if anyone is interested. LOL!
