False information? Like what? Rick's statements were shown to be false, yes.

George. the information in your posts is false.
The statements by Rick and press releases are true.
The details of each are not your business, my business, or
anybody else's business.
Conjecture and accusation without knowing facts is not
a very good habit, business or personally, one would think.

+++++++++++++++++++++

It is interesting how you are trying to frame this, that my POSTS are the issue, and not the trade show black list.

Nevertheless, let me try to take a stab at answering your questions:

1. Dunno. However, since leaving Rick's board 3 years ago my domain portfolio has grown from approximately 1,300 domains to 13,000 domains, I incorporated, and made other large strides.

2. Dunno. However, a 100% professional trade show that is open to all domainers, NOW THAT would be very very good for our industry, without question. Will the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2005 show next year be more professional and open to the trade in general? Or will it be Grudge Match 2.0? If my posts and others' posts help to make it open, I would say my posts have helped.

What do you think?

Hal,
I wasn't try to frame anything.

My questions were posed to discover your level of awareness, if you were
able to see the impact of your posts, both on your business, and on our industry.

I sincerely hope you stop grinding your axe in public forums.

Yes, you were banned. But does that mean that you should continually
bash and belittle everything that Rick is connected to?

Do you see him doing the same to you ?

It is not helping the domain industry in any way, and I'm guessing
the majority of people on this forum would rather see you contribute useful
information that moves our entire industry forward, instead of contantly
complaining and criticizing one individual.

Jesus Hal...you just said you wanted to let things go and you continue to defacate at the keyboard. Is there any wonder why you might not be wanted there?

It was 100% professional this year and it will be even better next year. Why don't you get over your Rick fixation and look at the bigger picture...

*MY* FIXATION?

•••Apparently..it seems your the one pissing and moaning about Rick here.

I SEE, SO I AM THE ONE WHO THREW A TRADE SHOW AND EXCLUDED PEOPLE WITH WHOM I HAD MINOR DIFFERENCES YEARS AGO? LOL.

irregardless

IRREGARDLESS AIN'T A WORD.

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, LOOK IT UP.

•••Thanks professor...see your knowledge of all things shines through. Now ask me if I care if its a word or not.

of your and others opinions of Rick...he did a great job organizing and particiating in the conference .. it was not the Rick show. It was the group as a whole that made it work...we were all part of the experience.

IT AIN'T AN OPINION. THE TRADE SHOW WAS RESTRICTED; THE WEBSITE SAID OLD BANNED BOARD MEMBERS WEREN'T WELCOME. THAT'S A GRUDGE LIST.

•••So...why would you want to be someplace your not wanted if your so sensitve? All I can base my opinions on are your previous posts on the boards...personally without knowing anymore..you have been doing nothing but pissing and moaning. Maybe if you had taken a moment to handle this through email rather that publicall you might be recieved differently.

HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT TO CALL IT A SWEET SMELLING ROSE, BE MY GUEST.

•••Thanks for the permssion...I have no reason to say anything but good things about the conference and all involved.

Funny thing Hal if you really have a problem with Rick..

MY PROBLEM?

•••Apparently..

AGAIN, IT WASN'T MY TRADE SHOW. IT WASN'T MY GRUDGE LIST.

•••Whatever Hal...what could I possibly add that would appease you...besides agreeing with you and I don't do that.

If you ever want to put this behind you as you said previously you did..then act like an adult instead of a whiny little kid. You will find the responses much more productive.

George:
When you ask if the show will be more professional next year it infers that the show was not this year. Interesting how you can ascertain this without having been there.
To imply that a show that featured JohnBerryhill, Ari Goldberger, Fabulous, Google, FindWhat etc etc etc was not professional is actually quite laughable. I mean really.
I was there and can tell you that it was a great experience. Look I dont know you, I only read what your saying here and I commend you from going form 1300 domain names to 13000 domain names, incorporating and all....that is truly great. The thing is, this is a close knit industry, and a small medium. One of the things that impressed me most about traffic 2004 was that individuals and companies who compete with one another for domain names and for business were very cordial and respectful of one another. If you have 1 domain name and a great reputation you have alot. If you have 10000000 domain names and no reputation youu have nothing. I am not suggesting anything about your reputation George its just that your rants are more demeaning to you as opposed to those you besmirch (hope thats a word!) I think you get the idea. You get more from working with people than working against them. Based on your approach I would opine that even if traffic 05 was open to the public it would not be open to you. If that turns out to be the case who is to blame for that?

DomainTrader: I didn't say that. Go back -- Hal said that.

P.S. I think you've got the wrong dude, as I don't have 10,000+ domains.

Agreed.

Maybe bygones should be bygones.

I am agreeable.

I actually thought you were gaining some maturity by this statement- then you went ahead and showed otherwise. The only way you seem to think you can elevate yourself is to destroy the work of others - what a damn shame....

Who's YOUR Daddy now?

Gregr and Michele Dinoia offered to have a domain conference in Pineto, Italy, in June 2003. After waiting to see what was happening, my wife and I bought non-refundable airfare from San Francisco to Rome. Then, Greg sold DNForum and did not adequately inform DCG about the planned event. Michele was not into organizing much, and he had offered free rooms at a hotel in Pineto. When it was clear that the meeting was falling apart, I sent many PM's to DCG, his staff, & Dinoia trying to help salvage the conference. There was not enough time, nor enough interest. A big part of the problem was all of the wannabees who said they would fly to Italy and then backed out. My wife and I had a nice time touring around Italy anyway.

Rick Schwartz and Howard Neu deserve huge credit for putting in the effort (and having the clout) to make TRAFFIC 2004 happen. I hope that either they open things up a bit (which they have said they plan to do) or that someone else with stature in the industry puts on a more inclusive conference. The most obvious candidate is DNForum/DCG.

I was glad to meet Rick and yet I could see why he would rub many people the wrong way. Obviously, not everyone of importance in the domain biz was there, including many people with way more impressive domain portfolios than mine. On the other hand, it was great to meet so many of the heavy hitters in our business.

Bull Shoals!

I didn't throw the trade show and blacklist people.

Bygones will never be bygones with stuff like that continueing.

Talking about it here on this board is a good thing.

A conference with Intellectual Property, and Brand Management people would be interesting. I imagine most would be in NYC, Madison Avenue, for the USA? Like the IP and Business Constituencies of ICANN, albeit with fewer lawyers.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONCERN. PERHAPS YOU COULD GIVE ME PRIVATE TUTORING ON DOMAINS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SOMETIME? I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD ASSIST ME.

I sincerely hope you stop grinding your axe in public forums.

DEPENDS.

IF T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2005 AGAIN INCLUDES A BLACKLIST, YOU CAN COUNT ON ME COMMENTING AGAIN. IT'S UP TO THE SHOW PRODUCERS, NOT ME.

Yes, you were banned. But does that mean that you should continually
bash and belittle everything that Rick is connected to?

THAT'S JUST... ABSURD.

Do you see him doing the same to you ?

FAR WORSE. HE SINGLED ME AND A FEW OTHERS FOLKS OUT AND BLACKLISTED US FROM ATTANDING A TRADESHOW, FOR MINOR DIFFERENCES DATING BACK YEARS.

It is not helping the domain industry in any way,

I AGREE. PLEASE HAVE A TALK WITH HIM.

Funny how the wind changes around here, only a few weeks ago (mulitple posts) Traffic04 was being slammed as a waste of time, a porn event, and much more.

Only now after the event, after reading the positive press, after recognising the sponsors involved, after the reality of burning bridges, after reading the reports/coverage of traffic and then walking away from the pc with that real understanding that they lost that opportunity, they missed out, they spoke without understanding, some with aggression.

I find it unbelievable there are arguments to be let in to a future Traffic event after such outbursts. As far as a war Rick V DNF as posted elsewhere here, thats a tough one as Rick never posts here as far as I,m aware, so perhaps the war is not a war and is due to the pure frustration around here at the lack of opportunity?? most of which is around the corner, if only they would let themselves find it instead of closing opportunities/doors with these outbursts.

Life would be better without these grudges, isnt it about time to drop it and get on with something more productive/positive.
