I'd love to know who you were exactly refering to.

Said jokingly....but seriously I would love to go just to meet him and see what he's all about. I was excited about getting this chance until I read the price tags involved....especially for non-board members which put it far out of my reach at that point. Did not like his blatantly rude comments on that page. In my opinion that's just unprofessional and reflects badly on the conference as a whole. That's when I knew he was somehow involved with this.

From everything I hear about Rick you will either love him or hate him. Guess since I cannot attend his meetings or visit his board I cannot make an evaluation for myself other than listening to credible testimonials on either sides of the aisle.

I do know for one that Yakov is a hypocrite for saying bad things about him when he's done worse stuff and been quite rude to people on this forum. I dare say Yakov would be the last person I would want as a spokesman at a conference or to represent domainers as a whole. I am more curious about where you got your money in the first place though....I mean cause we know how Rick got his. Maybe you can be the topic of the next DnJournal article and tell us about the real Yakov?

I'm not sure the reasoning behind it but maybe it would work this time? btw...what sponsors and speakers would you have at the Atlanta conference...seems that many of the main companies you would want sponsoring the event already have made a commitment elsewhere.

Yakov is right in the fact that not all the big players will be at this conference nor will very many small or middle of the road players....the conference I would like to see is one which is open to anyone and everybody and is a lot more affordable. One where issues like niche marketing, alternative TLDS (info, biz, us), search engine optimization, success stories, WLS debate, and more are discussed (i'm sure you guys can come up with plenty of other good suggestions also)....and where companies like Verisign, Enom, BuyDomains, Afilias, Neulevel, and others come together to speak about things other than traffic but about domains and the internet in general. I am sure some of these will be addressed in Florida but I would like to see a more friendly conference where both sides of the aisle can come together whether or not they agree with Rick.

Maybe the tapes will be available for puchase for $5,000? :-D

 aren't these discussions found on these forums already? Conferences like these are often more to spin and market services of the guest speakers than true (let's just say honest) discussion.

What I would really like to see and attend is a conference that looks into the future of domaining and new extensions and new ROI models and how new development models like semantic webs and intelligent search will impact on how "traffic" is managed and generated - not more of the same old stuff that's been told a thousand times.

yakov,

you really don't get it do you?

all this animosity you have for rick, funny how he was ok in your book untill your requests to join the board were turned down.

just for the record, it was not so much rick that prevented you from joining, but rather it was your reputation.

i actually made a good case for you at the time of your last request to join (objectively of course, based on what i 'thought' i knew about you)
but i was overwhelmingly out numbered by other board members who knew you better.

so don't shoot the messanger even if it is his ultimate decision, nobody wanted him to let you in and you have yourself to thank

do you have any friends in this industry? it would seem not. could it be perhaps because you are so full of resentment, strife, and anger?

this thread is a perfect example of why you were not welcome on the board, you lack the integrity and focus

what could you possibly stand to gain by bad mouthing rick and this conference? you cannot substantiate any of your allegations, you are a waste of time

you sound like a whiny high school girl who didn't make the cheerleading squad.

--

as far as the conference is concerned ... yes it is a high ticket event,
my guess is, if you cant 'afford' to attend, you prolly don't belong there anyway

* for those of you who will certainly take that out of context, it simply means that if you already owned the caliber of domains or quantity of traffic that would justify such a conference, money would not be an issue

The mods should close this thread, imho. Discrimination is a trait of the old Aryan theology, the world has had enough of this nonsense.

Will be nice to see how this does hit the newswire and media. The more advertisers who are sold on the idea of pay-per-click means higher bids and increased revenue for domain owners (cannot complain here). Google is trying to coax me back into contextual advertising but in my opinion unfocused traffic is the worst kind for ROI. In defense of Fabulous (after Yakov's comments) I think they do a great job at controlling the traffic for their sponsors and the tools they have are seen nowhere else in the industry.

Nice to see so many mature and immature comments in this elite industry. Made for some great reading. I cannot believe how someone making sales of 2 million $ is even bothered to comment on the conference. LOL, I would do something better than that : ) Either get it, or know somebody so you don't need to pay that much if you don't like it.... Or don't even be bothered by that Traffic crap. Work towards your next mill.

And Chris, gosh, you SURELY can afford that camera by now. Cmmon' I know it's a lot of money, but for you NO WAY........ You should be making that each passing hr. by now. BTW - Excellent story at DNJournal about you....

And mole - "Discrimination is a trait of the old Aryan theology"
I'm impressed with your memory. Did you just finish school? are you a teacher? or you have some Ph.D in History of the Aryan civilization. Interesting career to come from that background...

Nothing serious here (my post) guys. Just commentary on how it's been a pleasure reading all this (apart from being my 1st post in the Plat.F).

At last, knowing nothing about Rick personally, I can only say here, that charging the 1-5k is part of what makes him rich no? It's all about T.R.A.F.F.I.C Never mind if it's online or offline - lol.

NO. dead wrong.

he's PAYING more than most in order to make the conference happen.
he's not MAKING MONEY, but rather SPENDING IT, as our many others,
in order to to bring this conference together.

yakov, i don't know you at all. so i went back and read your previous posts to
find a little more about you.
my goodness, after spamming members of this forum and then telling them to
f*** off when questioned about it, claiming in a thread that you're "getting bigger
and bigger all the time",,, that you "play only with the big boys",, offer to sell your
ENTIRE portfolio for only $1.5M,,, and have "all the contacts anyone will ever need",
i cannot believe you'd actually have an intelligent audience in this business that would
listen seriously to ANYTHING you post.
you should probably think more about the future of your business before burning the
bridges to the "big boys" you *claim* to know.

Rick has proven himseld a plain fool and I don't care about him at all. I'm not following him around as he doesn't worth my time, I'm just speaking out when someones who uses fabulous claims he want to teach us traffic monetizing techniques and charge a loyalty-based fee ranginng from $1000 to $5000

As far as if "I can't afford to participate" you can rest assured that in my 20 years of age I've got more money that Rick has seen during his entire life.
As far as connections, I got some too but the difference between "the most" and me is I'm not afreaid to speak out and my alligations are always well founded.

If this is a show of "Domain King" feauturing his performance named "How to make the most of your traffic" with a loyalty based ticket price of $1000-$5000 then it should be advertised as that. I guess I better go see Britney or Madonna.

exactly, sweetie, which is why yak comes across as envious and resentful of someone
like rick who sells just one name for around yak's entire portfolio worth (or at least
his asking price... tho from what i've seen, i don't think yak owns all the names.. i saw
some unbelieve demand that someone using him as a broker must FIRST transfer their
domain name to his ownership. lolololol. thank goodness the owner of beat.com
didn't do that before he was slandered across these forums (only to be praised later)
by his broker.

beat.com was bought by buyer I found for it who bumped his offer from $21k to $25k and I got my broker fee for it. Ask the seller.

>> beat.com was bought by buyer I found for it who bumped his offer from $21k to $25k and I got my broker fee for it. Ask the seller.

that wasn't the implied question.

the implied question, or rather questions, are:
1) why would anyone switch ownership of their domain in order for you to broker it ?
2) why didn't you publicly apologize in these forums to the former owner of beat.com,
since you publicly slandered him for *your* questionable contract terms ?
3) why do you act so pompous when having a few good names doesn't make you a big player ?

and, "you can rest assured that in my 20 years of age I've got more money that Rick has seen during his entire life"

wow, that's great. you obviously have millions in cash at your disposal. why don't you fly all dnf forum users to a top
resort destination, and help educate all of us about making it big like you ?
