HiOsilver thanks for your info here.
Have you (or anyone else) tried searchfeed.com?
I have just started to send a bit of traffic through them but appears to be a lower return.

You don't need to transfer names in. You can just use their nameservers. Everything you want in under the Portfolio menu. It is a bit confusing, but you need to spend time to figure it out. I think that I said that in the original post. Good luck.

DomainSponsor FINALLY accepted me. I don't know what took so long. Perhaps there was a problem with my application. Anyway, I'll see how things turn out.

Check out the post at the beginning of the thread. I update it as appropriate when I get new results.

First of all, I assume that you are substituting your domain names for "domain.com" in your link.

You should check the stats to make sure that domain sponsor is correctly recording impressions and revenue for each of your domains. I have made errors and you can figure this out by comparing your domains vs. the stats report from DS.

Other than that, Domain Sponsor will work automatically.

Hi hiOsilver,

This is the difference between my stats and DomainSponsor.com:

An average day from my Stats from Cpanel's Webalizer:
Hits: 4085
Files: 3427
Pages: 1001
Visits: 265
Sites: 269

DomainSponsor's Stats from the same day:
Visitors: 196
US Visitors: 50
Unique Searches: 140
Clicks: 11

These differences are typical of all of the stats.

My question is: Why is there such a difference?

Thanks for any help or advice you can give!

Manic,

First of all, Hits are irrelevant. Some people think that a hit is a visitor. It is actually any downloaded file, included a little .gif. So a single page view can generate a dozen hits.

Files and Pages are similarly irrelevant for ppc revenue.

DomainSponsor and most other ppc services count unique visitors only. Some services only pay for North American unique visitors. So, any visitor who checks the page, or hits Refresh, will generate multiple visitor counts. However, DS and most other ppc services filter out the duplicate visitors.

Having said that, it is still possible that DS or other services occasionally lose click data. DS is extremely good in my experience, in that they will note this and give domain owners credit for lost revenue if they screw up.

Ultimately, visitors don't matter much. It is clicks that get you revenue. However, you need visitors to get clicks.

Obviously, in dealing with any ppc service, they are telling you how much revenue they are crediting you with. It is good when you trust the service. I really trust DS.

I just checked out DomainSponsor. It looks like this is what their business does:

1. they do not have their own advertisers, so they partner with FindWhat, GoClick, 7search (and other real PPCs)

2. All the traffic gets routed to those PPCs through 1stblaze.com, which is the same company as DomainSponsor/Oversee.

3. So basically, DomainSponsor is a middleman.

Then, my question to you guys is: why would you work with DomainSponsor, when you directly contract with Findwhat, Goclick, Epilot, kanoodle and share the click revenue only with the PPC?

Because now you're getting paid this:

Advertiser pays to PPC X amount per click (100% click revenue)
PPC pays to DomainSponsor Y amount per click (50% click revenue)
DomainSponsor pays You Z amount per click (less than 40%-10% click revenue.)

I understand that DomainSponsor provides you with great stats, which helps you decide to renew or not. However, I'm not sure if that great feature is more important than maximizing your income.

What do you think?

Smoothlime,

What counts for me are:
1) bottom line - how much am I earning on my domain traffic?
2) stats - so I can see which names might benefit by a different strategy and which types of names earn the best
3) ability not to interfere with sale of my names
4) integrity - no surprise visits to porn sites, no popup hell

If the bottom line is better than the alternatives while meeting my other 3 criteria, I don't care how many parties are splitting the revenue. What matters is my share of the revenue.

If you go to FindWhat, for example, you see that they do not offer a comparable program for aggregating the traffic from many domains. It looks like they are more interested in dealing with a DomainSponsor (who is an aggregator of traffic) or big traffic web sites.

So here is what DomainSponsor, Fabulous and similar sites provide:
1. aggregate traffic so that it is worth the effort to set up a search engine
2. aggregate demand for traffic so that you can get good prices per click and good click-through ratios (the product gives you a good cpm)
3. stats

If you can find a better ppc income site, then please post it here.

If you really want to cut out the middle man, you could create your own search site.

So HiOsilver, IYHO, if you did want to cut out the middle man and you were going to build your own search engine, would Find What be the people to use?

I have no idea. My focus is on selling names. The search income is great, but I don't have time to worry about my own search engine.

But has anyone some kind idea, how much it would cost?
