what is the domain name?

$14.50 in my opinion.

its worth whatever de.com are selling their subdomains for

Is it not good for the domain company, which is in business of the registration of dot de domains?

this is not a .de domain. I am not sure if you are aware of this. You are not buying a real top level domain here, you are buying a sub domain from the owner of de.com
maybe you are confused as some countries have .co.uk or .co.in domains, but this is not the case for Germany. This domain has no value IMO

it's a subdomain, which is pretty worthless.

Not all subdomains are worthless.

In this case, it might make it difficult for a business to operate with this name since people are not used to the subdomain trend. They are more likely to type thede.com and the.de.com. It's the same with new TLD's like .aero, .info, .mobi, etc... It takes along time and allot of marketing money to train the public on how to use the internet. That is why .com is king simply because of all the money spent. Make sense.

I would see if you can sell it, someone may want it but don't sell if for too high, not more than reg-fee.
