From CIRA:

Given the large number of domain names in this session, it is taking us longer than expected to review the results. We are continuing our review to ensure the session’s integrity. An additional advisory will be sent after our review, which we expect to be completed within two hours.

I have a bunch of domains in auction at Siber, they also managed to acquire a few for me as well but I don't appear to be able to pay for them yet.

The results list also isn't updated yet at Sibername.

No word on pool

I believe, by default, every domain you requested, is on auction at Sibername.

Correct me if I am wrong.

no... some of the ones on sibername say auction is closed meaning i am the only bidder... others have auctions that will end tomorrow.

So i'm wondering how they can run an auction when CIRA hasn't confirmed the domains yet... i'm not bidding and finding out later they didn't get it.

The email was sent out at 6.

Registrars know which domains they have acquired. The TBR system tells us. We just don't have control of the domains in the EPP system yet so we can't do anything with them...

Yes.. so in this case i don't believe registrars should already be running auctions.

They should be waiting until they have possession of the names.

I don't think "auction is closed" means you were the only bidder, otherwise Sibername got every name for which I applied. I THINK it means they didn't get the name so there is no auction.

However, I hope you are correct...

how can the registrars be able to grab names and hours later the other (less valueable) names are still not available for registration - this whole thing stinks

I don't know what you see, but for me it says "top bidder" then auction is closed

There is no other interpretation other than i got the name.

i agree - they should not be running auctions until they have 100% control of the name. What happens (when the dust settles) they run up an auction $$$$$$ and then find out the name was reg'd at another register...pissed off cusomers

Every single domain I ordered seems to have been caught by them too.

I believe this is the problem.. I don't think the auction platform is correct, although they know what they have registered already.. What a way to confuse people.. looks like the virus from CIRA has now spread to the Registrars.. I think what Pool seems to be doing is the correct approach... Don't have anything at all, til they very well know how many and what they got.

My interpretation is that the auction will not be run because they didn't get the name, so it is closed. I can't imagine that Sibername picked up every name that I tried to get, and the popular ones that I tried for had no one else bidding.

As I mentioned, I really hope I am wrong and you are right ;)

As i've been trying to say (and sorry if I'm not being clear)... we already DO know if we have the domain. The TBR systems tells us whether or not our registration attempt was successful - either it was accepted or it tells us it's already been registered by another registrar.

This information just needs to be transferred to the EPP system which it seems CIRA is doing manually (this time at least).

We're not waiting to find out whether or not we got the domain (as opposed to another registrar), we're just waiting to have control of the domains we DID get in the EPP system.

ditto for me at Sibername, some in auction already, some auction closed with me the high/only bidder.

it should all be sorted out soon. I doubt I got all the names where the auction is closed, but I hope I got a few of them. I've seen them do this before.
The only other thing I can think is that Siber's system handled the high volume of domain drops and did better than others at grabbing names, but to get every name on my list?? Maybe CIRA is checking if some registrars did much better than others, but I've never seen them alter the TBR results after the fact before.

onlinestoreca,

I am not sure how all your names you tried for didn't get bids.. most of mine have bids except a few where it says high bidder - auction closed.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well. I tried for 15 names, I have 5 that are in auction and the other 10 have the same as you "auction closed". I would be thrilled if all 10 of the "auction closed" were mine because no one else tried for them, but I usually have to work and suffer for things that I want -lol.

Sibername is good at getting names, but for me to get all of them (10 and 5 now in auctions) and same for Whitebark I would be surprised. Then again, there was a lot of names out there, and there are only so many of us domainers, so let's hope.
