I'm curious about your thoughts on the .us TLD.

Are they selling in the aftermarket?

What are they doing for?

Are they on par with .tv, .info, and .biz?

Probably wrong thread but I have sold .us and have a good profit with which I have re-invested in some more.

A .us resale market is only just beginning to develop, so I don't think you can form any solid opinions at this point. I personally think it will be a strong market in the next couple of years. .Info is a year older and it is starting to develop a nice resale market for the good names - several $1,500-$30,000 sales have been made and documented (many of those sales were by members of this forum).

First of all, throw out the ".TV" in this hypothetical. In my opinion, that extension isn't going anywhere ... for many reasons!
The .INFO/.BIZ/.US evolution will be interesting. Time will tell. My recommendation at this point in time, IF you do decide to DEVELOP any of these extensions into websites, is to "protect your investment" by securing the respective .COM ... an example would be if you were to DEVELOP the domain "Wedgets.US", also secure "WedgetsUS.com". Just my opinion, of course.

Right now, it seems to be a matter if faith regarding which TLD of those 3 you want to invest in. People recommend all 3, to cover all the bases.

I have seen some nice development on .info sites. It is truly a world-wide name, understood in many/any language.

Less enthusiasm seems to surround .biz. Was this an alternative for .com, to open up another 93 million names?

Long term, .us will be in highest demand among the 3.

People that live in the US, people that want to develop a business presence in the US, these will contribute to the demand for .us names.

There are strong national markets for .kr, .jp, .com.uk, .de, .au, and others that have been available for years. Lets see what the 1 year mark brings for .us.

If you are an American, how can you not like .US? It is short, recognized worldwide and represents the #1 economy on earth. That is a powerful combination for a business to be able to attach to its name!

Unlike .info and .biz it is completely versatile for any use and unlike .net and .org it carries no old baggage with respect to preconceived notions of what the extension means. .US lacks only one thing - that is public recognition and that is no surprise at all since the extension is only 9 months old. Time will cure that problem and the early adopters will be sitting pretty.

I'm not arguing the obvious value of the .coms. I own a bunch. But I'm going to be adding the tag line "Not just another .com" on a good number of my developed .US sites.

The tech world is always changing - you have to be adaptable to keep up. I'm with stocdoc - .com is great, probably will remain the Cadillac of domains for a long time to come, but there are investment opportunities elsewhere in the domain world as well. Tunnel vision is not a good thing.
