Just listed about 100 names for 999-3999 - i dont expect to sell any but what the hell, its free

question: it says my listing is for 1.00000 months. do i have to keep re-adding them every month?

I don't think so, I did mine a couple months ago and I haven't had to redo it.

as long as you add auto renewal - it will renew itself every 30 days, meaning, not only is it listed on Premium Listing, it also added to the TDNAM market auction, it countdowns from 30 days to 0 hours. You get extra exposure!

Thanks. I will have to re-new then. I did not choose auto-renewal - I thought that was some sneaky way for them to get me to auto-renew the domains. I never renew anything with GD, always transfer out.

you can set for auto renew -

30% is steep - i think they would get more listings at better prices (less mark up for the buyer) if they kep it under 20%

15% of 1,000,000
is more revenue than
30% of 100,000

i have only sold 1 name - short names and rare names might sell

long tails and multi names with other variations would have to very priced low (and may not be worth it after 30%) or the consumer will just keep on searching alternatives until they find one at reg. prices (at least thats what i did when i was searching for a particular name)

always keep in mind - people (endusers) will pay for good names they really want regarless of price (within reason) crap names wont sell regardless of price

It is too bad that only names at godaddy can be listed, I'd much rather see an escrow process like Moniker's.

I would like to try this too with some of my names, but I'd hate if a newbie got stuck buying one of my names by mistake (the way someone who posted on the forum did some time ago). Would GoDaddy insist the sale went ahead if this happened, in order to get its commission?

i have some names posted on Premium names - the "reconmended price" from Godaddy for most are in the $100-$1000 range. except one name was reconmended at over $8,000 - i removed it and added back to see if it was a glitch and now the rec. price went up to $9,000???????

How does their appraisal system (reconmended price) work??

30% may be okay for you if you have low quality names that you want to sell to end users

but who is going to list a generic and lose 30% ? not me that's for sure

your loss.

Not really.. it's more likely your lost. I still utilize the service for marketing purposes but I do price them "accordingly" i.e 30% higher. I find Sedo to be a far superior venue, cost effective, and targeted venue. It comes down to the numbers and 30% is outrageous especially for xx,xxx plus or higher sales. But to each his/her own and each portfolio or strategy is different.

Regards

no
when you get popup box and choose your listing price
check the box below that says the listing is automatically renewed

this is not domain registration, it is premium listing. which is free

i added about a dozen, doesnt hurt. just price over what you would be very happy with and fingers crossed
i listed some older .coms as more chance over years lots of people have searched
also redirected domains to godaddy.com, so if people use direct navigation to find my domain, they may type straight in again into godaddy search box and find my premium listing

thats the theory anyway:)
