Hello,

I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. Have been investing in 3d domains and been looking to grow from that. Really excited about the 3d technology. Love all the positive posts in this thread. Seems to be some hatred towards 3d domains in some threads. Here's a list to some of my 3d domains. Would love any feedback. I plan to develop about 25 - 30 of them. I started with www.3dhdled.com and it has been receiving nice traffic already. Thanks for looking.

Panasonic VT25 3D Home Systems headed to US with lower price tags

Posted by Rachel King @ 3:51 am

In case you were thinking of cracking open the piggy bank for a 3D plasma HDTV some time soon, there’s some good news: Panasonic’s VT25 systems will be arriving in the US this week and cheaper than the prices they went for in Japan.

Previously announced at CES 2010, the VT25 display is available in five sizes, ranging from 50- to 65- inches wide. Starting Wednesday, March 10, the VT25 bundle package includes 3D plasma screen, a DMP-BDT350 Blu-ray player and active shutter glasses. Now in Japan, that whole kit was selling for ¥430,000 ($4,766). In the United States, the whole package will sell at about $3,000.

Normally, a lot of tech products don’t always sell for the equivalent price from country-to-country, currency-to-currency for various reasons. Sometimes it comes down to extra shipping costs or expected popularity.

The reason behind this price cut? The Wall Street Journal reports that it is partly due to Panasonic’s “push to drive adoption of the technology.” It’s also because Panasonic didn’t do too well last year in the TV department, so they’re banking that some big price reductions might help in 2010.

Perhaps they don’t expect Americans to be as inclined to jump on the 3D home entertainment bandwagon, especially in this economic climate. You have to admit that even $3,000 is a lot to spend on a home entertainment set-up these days, especially one that is 3D. While Hollywood is pushing the 3D factor these days, it will be awhile before you can have a home library of quality 3D films to entertain yourself with. But considering the discount and how much that bundle includes, it’s still not a bad price.

TV Industry Needs a Standard for 3D Glasses -- Now

Jeff Bertolucci

After months of buzz, 3D television has officially arrived. Panasonic on Wednesday will launch its new series of 3D-enabled HDTVs at Best Buy, a move that's part of a united industry effort to bring three-dimensional entertainment to your living room.
Samsung may already be selling 3D TVs -- and if not, it will shortly. Sony is gearing up to launch its 3D-ready sets as well, and other vendors are sure to follow. 3D Blu-ray players are arriving too, as are channels of 3D programming from ESPN, Discovery, DirecTV, and other content providers.
Not So Fast, Four Eyes

So 3D is ready for its close up . . . right? Well, maybe not. While the industry players have hammered out technical standards that allow many 3D-ready components to work together -- any 3D Blu-ray player should work with any 3D television, for instance -- they haven't established one for the new type of 3D glasses that work with the sets.

"For the 3D TV industry, if you want fast adoption, or a nice, seamless, ePanasonic 3D glasses
asy consumer experience, you want to work as hard as possible to make sure that everybody's glasses can be used at a friend's house," says DisplaySearch TV analyst Paul Gagnon.

But if your Sony 3D glasses don't work with your neighbor's Sharp 3D set, or vice versa, everybody may decide this 3D thing really isn't worth the trouble -- and the added cost.
Why? Because 3D programming, at least initially, will be limited to a small catalog of 3D movies, a smattering of nature shows, and maybe a few major sporting events like the World Series. It'll be like color television in the early 1960s, a novelty found mostly in the homes of affluent early-adopters.

Having a Super Bowl party? Let's say you invite ten friends over to watch the game in glorious 3D. There's a slim chance you'll buy ten pair of 3D glasses for everyone -- particularly when the high-tech shades are likely to cost $100 or more a pair, according to Gagnon.
And if each of your friends owns a 3D TV (which they certainly won't, but let's say they do), there's no guarantee their glasses will work with your set.
Some Good News

190741-11-3d-glasses_listing.jpg
Since 3D capability will be a feature of many high-end HDTVs, there's a good chance consumers will buy a 3D-enabled set today, but stick with 2D programming until glasses become cheaper and (hopefully) standardized among vendors.
But as usual, early adopters will pay dearly for being, well, early.

Would You Pay $133 For Sony's 3D Glasses?

Alongside Sony's upcoming 3D-capable LCD sets, the company has announced standalone shutter glasses and an infrared emitter to drive them. For a family of four, the 3D upgrade would cost $587.

Sony's TDG-BR100 and TDG-BR50 active shutter glasses will cost about $133 this June in Japan. The "3D emitter" will run about $55. (Prices converted from yen.)
Keep in mind, if you buy Sony's flagship LX900 TV, starting at $3900, you get the emitter and two sets of glasses "free." But clearly, Sony's money making strategy is as much, if not more on the peripherals than it is on the televisions themselves. While their glasses may be a higher quality than others in the industry—a reasonable possibility—at least one manufacturer assured me at CES that their shutter glasses would cost about 1/4 Sony's current asking price. Final Four Enters 3D Arena

CBS to broadcast 3D games to movie theaters

By Glen Dickson -- Broadcasting & Cable, 3/9/2010 5:12:24 PM

CBS will broadcast the 2010 NCAA Men's Final Four semifinal and national championship basketball games live in 3D after securing a sponsorship deal with set-maker LG Electronics, the network announced March 9.

CBS will use NEP's SS 3D production truck and PACE 3D Fusion cameras to capture the games in 3D, and rely on Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. to broadcast the games via satellite to paying customers in up to 100 theaters across the country. Cinedigm has previously broadcast Fox's 3D production of the 2009 BCS National Championship Game and Turner's 3D production of the 2009 NBA All-Star Saturday Night to digital cinemas equipped with Cinedigm receive equipment.

Fans attending the Final Four festivities in Indianapolis also can view the games in 3D on LG's LCD HDTVs at locations throughout Lucas Oil Stadium and at the NCAA's interactive fan event, "Bracket Town refreshed by Coca-Cola Zero."

"Bringing the Men's Final Four to consumers in 3D is a prime example of how LG strives to deliver something better - superior technology combined with an unparalleled viewing experience - for consumers," said Peter Reiner, senior VP of marketing for LG Electronics North America, in a statement. "As the official 3D Sponsor, we are excited to partner with CBS Sports to bring consumers this immersive 3D viewing experience and tap into the passion of college sports fans throughout the country."

"Cinedigm's experience, having brought the 2009 BCS Championship and the 2009 NBA All-Star Saturday Night events to theaters in live 3-D, has shown us that fans who attend will feel as though they have courtside seats," added Cinedigm Chairman and CEO Bud Mayo. "We're proud to work with our technology partner Sensio and with our growing national network of top-quality theaters to help bring fans one step closer to courtside."

The 3D games on Saturday, April 3 (6:00-11:00 PM, ET) and Monday, April 5 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET) will be fully-produced CBS Sports events with CBS College Sports Network announcers Dave Ryan and Steve Lappas calling the action.

CBS' 3D foray with the Final Four is not surprising, as CBS Sports Executive VP of Operations and Engineering Ken Aagaard has been an early supporter of using stereoscopic 3D technology for live sports. As B&C previously reported, Aagaard has been considering for months whether it would be feasible to produce the Final Four or next month's The Masters golf tournament in 3D. Last month Aagaard attended ESPN's test production in late February of a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game in Orlando where it used the same truck and cameras to produce both 3D and 2D broadcasts and as well as the NBA All-Star Game in Dallas, where the NBA captured some 3D footage for later repurposing.
Aagaard has emphasized that networks will need support from set-makers to cover the extra cost of 3D. He said the Final Four production, which will be CBS' first in 3D, wouldn't have been possible without LG's support.

CBS will use five 3D cameras for the Final Four, including a robotic overhead camera on one basket, two handheld cameras under the baskets, and two hard cameras mounted higher up in the arena. The network may use a camera placed at midcourt to present a more conventional view of the game, and it is also considering cutting in some footage from 2D cameras and using new 2D-to-3D conversion technology to present it. Aagaard notes that CBS isn't obligated to run the same commercials as the 2D broadcast, and may insert some special 3D spots into the game.

The Final Four broadcasts will be the first live 3D production experience for both director Mark Grant and producer Ken Mack. CBS will use the college All-Star game this Friday night in Indianapolis as a 3D rehearsal, testing both camera positions and Cinedigm's satellite delivery system.

"It's our first time doing this, and we'll be learning as we go," he said.

In my opinion generic 3d domain names will become more valuable. In my case will wait until 3d televisions and monitors launch before selling.
Thanks for your opinion and sorry for my poor english

Many good generic names always go unsold at auctions.
